Re: philips 1gb go gear not working

Look just mark this as solved and heres why: inside theres a little hard drive and when that and the board it was connected to got wet it fried them both there is no way to fix that however you can look inside to see for your self with a small phillips screw driver At the top right theres a phillips head screw-remove that and pull it out just a little then turn it as theres a little catch in the middle of it,if you try to pull it straight out it may break so turn it while you do so it will come loose just have to kinda twist it or you can slide a credit card down the side til you feel it then it will open/ the little hard drive and curcuit board is alot like a pc and water would fry a pc just like it did that mp3

Do you still have the software that came along with it? Install it to your PC then connect your Go Gear to your PC and choose "repair".

I have a philips go gear mp3 player 1GB, i don have the drivers to enable me put more songs in it thru my comp, My computer has windows XP proffessional service park2. please help.

Windows media player has the ability to add/remove/manage media on mp3 players, with media player running, plug the mp3 player in and wait for the computer to respond. Media player should ask you if you want to manage songs on your player.
Alternatively, the Philips website will have a copy of the software to download.
Good luck.

Philips GoGear MP3 1GB player

if you dried it out in rice after the fall then you might have a problem with the mother board if it was on when you dropped the device into the water than you could have fried one of the servers that help your computer to recognize the device

hope this helps you

good luck

STMP3500 driver for PhilipsGogear 1 gb

The driver is installed when you install the Firmware Manager software on the product CD.

The player will show as STMP3500 when it is in recovery mode (usually caused by corrupt firmware)

Install the Frimware manager.

Connect the player.

If asked for a driver let Windows search automatically.

If you get a Signed Driver message just click ok to continue.

Run Firmware Manager and follow the on-screen prompts, and all should be well.
