Hello,
When you say that you are not getting the best results, it depends on many things like
1) The color mode that you might have selected (B&W / color).
2) Document type setting ... Select Graphics for most documents. Select Text if your document has a colored background that you want to remove.
3) Type of Paper you take the print on .. is it a normal paper or a photo paper (there are many types in photo papers again)
Try playing with different settings and you will strike the correct balance that would please your eyes Or please let me know what kind of printout are you taking and what are the present settings so that we can guide you in a better way.

Thanks and Regards,
Srinivas

In your printer settings, (i.e) printer properties..you can access it in the Print window.
printer properties > Advanced > set the color mode to "Epson Vivid" > and Gamma to 2.2

Increase the brightness a little (some 5 points higher), and set the color toggle bars of color catridges to maximum.

Thank you!

Epson RX680-How to print only in B+W

You can set it to "grayscale" and supposedly print only in black/grey.
However, Epson printers use a small amount of every color even when printing black only or greyscale (black). Your printer will still not work with one color tank empty.

Here is how to set it:
Open the properties page for the RX680 and on the "Main" tab, click on [Advanced]. A Note may appear egarding incorrect settings.
Click [Continue]. Find the [ ] Grayscale box and check it, the [OK]
[OK], etc.

Here is Epson's note on using grayscale / colors:

Epson stylus photo RX680 error message says; service required contact epson. Does the counter need to be reset and if so how do I do that?

Yes you're right. Use SSC service utility or RX680 Adjsument program. Find at indoreset.blogspot.com. Don't forget to replace waste ink pad, or just extend outlet pipe of head cleaning mech to outside.

My Epson RX680 has dust in my display how do I

First question: have you the skills to open the printer?
Second: it is affecting the funcionality?
If both answers are not, then keep working.
If you want to open the printer, find and download the service manual, fin it in google, some places give it free, other ask for a donation and anothers sell all via paypal.Good luck

Q: How can I tell if the computer or the printer is causing a print quality problem? A: You can print a nozzle check pattern to determine whether the print quality problem is caused by the Epson Stylus Photo RX680 Series or some other source.

Epson Rx680 Photo all in one

Call Epson again and complain. This is a known defect on new machines shipped. I had the same problem and they sent me a new printer under warranty (same model) without any issues. The new one works perfectly.
