SOURCE: Repainting doors on whirlpool white refrigerator

oowwwww!!! thats what we call in the refrig biz "refrig cancer" the door itself is actually rusting from the inside out. the older refrigs used fiberglass insulation inside the doors which has a tendency to hold moisture, and overthe years rusts through. the new door use blown-in poly styrene foam far less likey to hold moisture. That being said you could remove the door lightly sand and paint, can of krylon enamal aint should do it, at least for a little while anyway

You can purchase a bottle of rust converter at any auto parts store, and then all you need to do is purchase appliance paint..

SOURCE: Rust ruining door at lower corners of ice/water dispenser.

when you dispense ice or water, you are allowing the drip tray to overfill and the water builds underneath the tray until the water reaches the point were it will leak down the front of the door. the water will rust the panel beyond repair. you will have to replace the whole door at this point. hope this helps.

Get your refrigerator repainted before it is too late. It isn't that costly. Cracks may be due to rusting. Ask those mechanics about it when you give it for painting.

I have rust below my doors its bad what do i do

Rust on door bottoms and rocker panels below that is common on those. You can do the repair yourself using fiberglass resin and cloth. it's not difficult but takes time and it's very messy.
You can replace the doors using doors from a wreck (scrapyard) problem there is that it's a bit expensive and since rust there is common, it may be hard to find ones without rust...even harder if you want to match the color. Rockers need to be removed and welded in (also expensive) if you decide to replace rather than using glass.
There are many on-line instructions dealing with fiberglass repairs. Definitely watch them before working with it.
If the rust has not gone through the metal, sand it down and use "rust killer" on it, prime and paint.
I generally use bed liner spray on lower parts of doors as it makes a tough durable finish that can either be painted to match or left black (actually looks classy on certain vehicles, especially if you extend it from bumper to bumper)

The white plastic(?) full length door handles OUTSIDE the refrig are turning yellow on my white, side by side refrig. What can I purchase or use to re-whiten them and make them look clean and white again?

That yellow coloring is most likely a result of the white paint coming off, and the yellow plastic color showing underneath. Other than painting them with a good paint, which you would have to ask a paint expert for the proper type, my suggestion is to replace the handles altogether.

Have a small ding in tub. Where can I find touch-up to repair? The color appears to be bisque, but have not been able to find a match. I live in the Easton, Pa. area. Thankyou. Ed Hoffman

Easiest fix is to buy appliance touch up paint. Looks like a fingernail polish bottle. They'll have your shade. H/Depot, Lowe's, similar should carry.

Bottom of door inside badly rusted - oven works fine

Yes you can paint it.. Begin by removing the rust with either a wire brush or a thick paste product called naval jelly. Then prime the area and finally paint it with appliance paint, abailable in a spray can at most hardware stores in the color of your appliance.

I have a scratch on door of new refidge - please help

Hi ibjones5474,
Dont let that scratch get ya down. It is really easy to get that scratch fixed. You will first need to buy you some appliance touchup paint. You can get a small bottle about the size of a nail polish. It even has a little brush inside like nail polish. If you get the correct color just brush a little into the scratch and viola, all better. If you have a stainless steel refrigerator that scratch is going to be a part of your life as long as you own the refrigerator. Good luck to ya and remember when you are buying your touchup you may need to order for the brand and color not just the color. Whirlpool bisque may be different than frigidaire bisque. Also you may want to practice your painting technique on a hidden spot before you jump in. Keep a clean cloth on hand also incase you have a run, just wipe it off and start again. See ya...
