I HAVE A KAWASAKI 19 HP 601V and it starts and runs great but if i stop it hot, it takes forever to get it restarted. choke, no choke, no matter. plugs are dry. there is fuel in sediment bowl when I open drain screw. fuel shut off "clicks" when i turn the key to on. compression is 110 and120. i have adjusted the valves as someone suggested. what does the fuel shut off valve do? could there be a malfunction here somehow?

The fuel shut off valve is a solinoid that pushes a pin into the bottom of the main jet shutting the fuel flow down when the engine is switched off, this is to stop un burnt fuel entering the hot exhaust causing loud bangs as the fuel ignites, if you remove the valve, switch the ignition on, the pin should retractfully into it housing.

SOURCE: Popping out exhaust, loss of power, wont run at full throttle.

I had the same problem. If it is a 2 cylinder, remove the valve covers. On one side, the rocker arm had slipped off of the push rod. It was real loose. Put the rocker arm back on the push rod and tighten it down. I think this will do the trick.

No need for diferent carb. Make sure your fuel is fresh, clean. Drain or clean out the sediment bowl. Make sure the engine dies;'t have an overheating problem. You have symtoms of overheating. Good luck Keep the rpms up, don't lug sround in too high of a gear.If it's water cooled with a radiator, ck the coolant level and that the radiator is not obstructed. Chk your fan belt if equiped.

Kawasaki 23 HP FR691V-CS30 What makes the engine run poorly when hot?

Anti afterfire (carb fuel) solenoid is suspect. If it has a removable plunger take it out to test if problem goes away. Else snip off the plunger with a pair of side cutters.

The only caveat with this test method is if the magneto kill circuit is not functional you'll need to choke out the air intake or pull the spark plug wires to stop engine.

Exmark lazer HP 19 Kawasaki 50" deck new PTO and new relays blades engage for 30 minutes then shut off engine on. After cooling will engage for 10 minutes then shut off

Engine valves need adjusting.
symptoms: starts ok, runs until engine reaches max temp loses power then stops. can't restart when hot. once restarted runs for a while stops again.

There is very little clerance in these valves and temperature alters the lenth by a few thou and the valve don't close fully losing compression, once cold the valves shrink back enough to create enough compression to start again.

Kawasaki Bayou 220, cleaned carb. dont completely understand the floats but all jets are clear. reinstalled fuel lines, throttle, and choke cables. Starts great, also idles great. BUT when i test drive it:...

To start with was it fine before you cleaned it? Is any gas over flowing from the carb at any time? Does it start well when cold or hot? Will it take throttle slowly but not quickly? Did you adjust your air screw? These answers will help me determine what is going on. Did you pull the float off? Did you check the choke and make sure reassembly is correct?

What is the button on top of my clutch do. not the kill switch the othere thing

Do you mean the little tiny lever joined to the clutch perch ( has a cable leading to it?) if so this is the hot start lever. You use it like the choke ( but when bike is hot! ) it changes air fuel mix for easier starting but if you never use it then thats great no need to start now if all working out for just give it a go one day when bike is hot and being painful to restart...

19 hp kawasaki mower motor that dies after operating 45 minutes

well its back to the fule flow,,,i thing the fule lines and carb are blocked up and needs a strip down and a good clean up of all the jets and flote bole this sounds like fule shortage,,,if the engine is only just turning and you try to put it in gear so the cutters start to turn it loads the engine up and it stops!
you say pulling the choke out get it going!!!!! then its short of fule ,,,right!
