Craftsman cicular saw model320.10871 sounds bad n start sparking n smells like its burning....

The 3 things needed for an engine to run:
1. Compression (Cylinder, Piston, rings, gaskets)
2. Ignition (Spark plug, ignition module/coil)
3. Fuel (Fuel lines, Carburetor, gaskets, bad fuel)

More than Likely I would start by checking fuel related since that is usually the biggest offender (fuel lines broken/dry rotted, bad carb.)

Did you get a smell of burning at that moment? the motor may be burnt out by the strain.

Sounds like the motor has gone on this. Get it checked out but it might not be economical to be repaired. It could cost at least 50.00 for the parts alone.

Is this direct drive or belt driven? If belt driven check belt and pulleys
for wear. If direct drive don't know of any rubber components.

sounds like a bad bearing take the belt off and see what pulley is hard to turn look for the one with dark marks on it from the belt

Wait for the motor to cool then try again..... you may use compress air to blow across the motor to speed the process.

Your brushes are at or near the end of their useful life. Replace the brushes or be prepared to replace the motor.
