Use HP 363 cartridges instead of 177 for my Photosmart C7183

I can't get the right ink for my HP C7183 (HP 177 cartridges). I found that the HP 363 cartridges fit into the space for the print cartridges okay, but my printer won't accept it. Is there any way to reconfigure the printer so that it accepts the cartridge? I moved from South Africa (zone 3, using 177 cartridges) to Perth in Australia (zone 1, using 02). How do I configure my printer to accep the new cartridges.

I had the same problem but I moved to Dubai (who uses 177) from Australia (02 series) and I don't know how you fixed it? Can you please tell me how??
    Thanks

Phone HP.  After about a month hanging on, on their premium rate number, you'll finally be put through to someone who doesn't understand the problem.  Then, after your beard has grown another inch or two, if you're lucky, you'll actually get someone who understands the problem.  Some birthday's later, you'll be connected to a technician who can talk you through a simple number of keystrokes to re-configure the printer.
Reckon this cost me 30 UK pounds - seriously -  I had to call five times  but eventually it was done.

How to convert photosmart printer cartridge to refillable one

Yes conversion kits are available. I always recommend using a brand specific kit rather than the universal.

One company 4InkJets, claims that, "Our HP Ink Refill Kits are not universal kits. Each Refill Kit is specifically designed to work with a specific HP cartridge. Our refill kits are the best way to save money and still print at high quality. All of our HP Ink refill kits are dual refill kits which means you can fill up your cartridges twice. We also have clear and easy instructions on how to refill your cartridges. Our refill kits are backed by a one year 100% satisfaction guarantee."

I bought my HP Photosmart C6280 in Switzerland, using cartridges 363. Now I have moved to South Africa and I can only buy cartridges 177. When I put them into my printer it says "Incorrect Ink...

it is likely that you havr a mix of trade and host supply of ink cartridges. Even though HP363 and HP177 are compatible cartridges it is not the issue. Refer this article.

Hope this helps.

I installed 177 cartridges instead of 363 and of course the machine seems to know this! can it be programmed to accept the 177

No. Printer manufacturers vary the electronics on machines between countries. For example, you have a machine purchased from the UK that is the same as a model you can purchase in the US. The ink cartridges available in the US cannot be used in the UK machine because they essentially cannot communicate with each other.

I bought an HP C6180 all in one wireless printer 18 months ago while I was living in the US. It uses HP 02 cartridges which can not be sourced in the UK.There is a simalar 363 cartridge HP 363 but it is...

Oh yes HP can regionalize the printer for you. You need to call the UK HP and speak to their tech people. There is a specific reset that can be done and once it's complete you are able to use the 363 cartridges.

0844 369 0369 is there number and they do not charge for support for regionalization calls even if printer is out of warranty.

Re-configuring for european ink cartridges

i had thed same problem. after hours of trying different options i finally got it to work. i have a hp 3210 that i brought from the usa to irelnad and when i put in irish cartrtidges it said " this printer is cinfigured to use 02 cartridges" Iriss cartridges are 363. so what i done was , while the printer was turned on i held down the " Black" button and the "Color" button at the same time. Keeping them held I powered off the printer , keeping them held until the printer was completely powered off. when i turned the printer back on the region had being reset and it asked me to choose my language and country. chose " Ireland". Now works!!!
