My GE washer fills fine but does not spin. It will also drain water out. I tried to shake it to see if that would work. Then it makes a grinding sound. Any help please?
wont spin
One of the largest problems with this washer has been the lid switch, you must check it out with a ohm meter, if the switch quits you will lose power to the motor. Things can get caught between the tanks as well, this machine is bad for the center bearing tightening up and the spin will quit. This is a new close up pictureof a typical lid switch. You can temporarily join the wires together to test the motor and washer operations.
You have a broken coupler...this is a plastic and rubber part that connects the motor to the transmission. A $20 part

The model number on the washer is actually WJRR4170E1WW but it says that it is an invalid model number?
