Weslo pro tread belt

Hi, I just put together a weslo pro crosswalk 7.8..

I have never really used a treadmill so i am not sure if the noise i am hearing is normal or not.

when you step on the sides and turn the belt on, you don't really hear any noise, but when you begin to walk you hear a rubbing noise.

is this normal?

Hi, Yes it is! the belt is not free floating but travels on a slide. When there is pressure on it ( from someone) it rubs on the slide underneath. When you step off it should stop the rubbing noise. There you go, this should Fixya!
