ViewSonic VA912b (Back light with blank dark screen)!

My monitor was working fine all year long. Yesterday when I switched my computer on, the screen showed distorted startup window screen.I immediatly switched the monitor off for one minute. Then switched it on back again and the screen was black and backlit with power switch indicator as green. On top of screen, there is a very thin white line 1mm thick and the rest is black. I checked the screen with other computers, the same problem (back light with blank screen and green power indicator. Please help.

I have the same problem, using LCD VA912b, almost 1 year old.
The power cord connect to wallet cord (not to the read of mainboard)

the power led sometimes blink, and i can not see any (the lcd is being black). the power led is flashing, on and off, on and off.....

I have to turn off the computer, turn off monitor power cord. wait about 20 minutes, then turn on again, it will work, but if I turn off monitor then turn on, or restart the computer. the power led will blink again :(

    Can you help me?

I have similar issues. Have moved the transformer module onto my desk top so I can unplug it easily. I don't have to wait, just interrupt the power for a moment and it will reset. It has to be a hardware problem.

I have the same problem. If the computer goes into power save mode for the monitor the VA912b won't come back on. The LED blinks and it makes a repeating "bloop" noise.

I have no solution other then what was stated. Turn it off for several minutes and turn it back on. Sometimes you have to try this repeatedly before it works. (I have two VA912b monitors that I bought at the same time and both are connected to the same pc - this only happens to one of them)

This is EXACTLY the problem I'm having. Like a car trying to start in the cold... I hear a faint "pop" at 5-7 sec intervals as it tries to come out of sleep mode. Screen remains black, light green...but flashing slowly.

How old is the monitor? Viewsonic has a 1yr warranty on this particular monitor. There is an internal hardware issue with the monitor that will need to be diagnosed by someone with proper testing equipment.

Screen flashes on then goes dark

Hello,

It sounds like you have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitors will blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts called capacitors overheating in the confined space of the monitor. If you are good at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix the problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm You can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts, replace any that look like the pictures and your monitor should work fine. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and - connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one the same way. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping.

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

LCD Panel went dark al of a sudden

It could be a faulty inverter or a faulty CCFL lamp.

ViewSonic VA912b monitor fading out during boot

It is probably the power supply, or the inverters.

Similar problem with solution, though it requires you to know something about electronics.
