The old-style chrome-plated metal bumpers are much simpler to replace than the newer-style ones are, but are much heavier. An assistant may be needed to hold the bumper in place while starting the fasteners.
These bumpers are held in place by four carriage bolts. The heads of these bolts are kept from rotating by a square cutout in the metal of the bumper. Immediately behind the head of the bolt is a square area on the shaft that fits this cutout exactly.
Before trying to loosen the bolts, spray them with WD-40 or another light lubricating oil. If the threads of the bolts are rusted, use a drill-mountedwire brush to clean off as much of the rust as possible. The nuts can be removed from these bolts with a ratchet and socket. A breaker bar may be necessary to start loosening the nuts. Be sure to keep the head of the bolt flush up against the metal of the bumper so that it will not turn.
Once the four bolts are removed, the bumper should fall off. The new bumper can be placed onto the mounting brackets and the hardware re-installed. If the hardware is rusty, it is recommended to replace it with new hardware.

The better question is what is the standard suspension ride height measured between set points on the suspension & fixed body parts
If this is correct & bars appear be mounted correctly no problem.
As the bumper bar height can vary dramatically depending upon the tire options the suspension ride height is the only reliable measure

I replaced the rear struts, when removing i discovered one was totally bad, they didn't seem bad from testing and recovered quickly when pushing on the bumper, but were bad. after replacing my rear tire wear is even after 5k miles. mine were wearing from inside to outside too.

Its fitted by screws and held by assembly.Give proper support to lower side and loosen the screws and bumper should easily come off.

Yes, sorry, that's what I meant. When you have a rear heater system, they usually incorporate (use) another heater core, similar to one under dash for heat, in rear . I'm thinking you have Pink type antifreeze in your radiator & cooling system return bottle, and that's what feeds that heater core in rear as well as front, for heat. It's usually located behind the rear side panel in back of the Suburban.
Better check your coolant level in engine too, it is probably going down, as much as your leaking, and you don't want to cook the engine.
