Very simple. Remove screws at the base and the front panel. The heater is on the bottom easily accessed. The re-string kit is way cheaper than the "mailbox" Start here:

Maytag dryer MDE9700 AYW We replaced the dryer heating element and the dryer still don't heat can anyone help me figure what parts I need

The heating element connects to a thermal fuse and then to a thermostat. The thermal fuse may be blown. There is no outward sign of failure http://www.appliancepartspros.com/01-blower-heater-parts-for-maytag-mde9700ayw.html

My dryer won't heat. Maytag DE410

Hi,

Make sure front of dryer is not blocked, air flow is needed to dry.Check that the lint filter and exhaust duct is clean.

Check the blown fuses and home’s circuit breaker tripped. Dryer use 2 household Fuses or a circuit breakers, If one is blown, the dryer may still operate but not heat. Alternatively, the dryer may heat, but it may not heat up as hot as it should. Replace the Fuses or reset the circuit breaker.

Another common cause of a dryer failing to heat is a faulty Heating Element. You will need to replace it.
Good Luck and have a nice day. Rating the solution is highly appreciated.

Maytag neptune electric dryer MDE5500AYQ not getting hot

You should get a diagram of your dryer *(look on the exterior back panel and under the top lid to see if they put a sticker diagram there.

Your heating element can be shorted open so no heat can be made.

You can easily check the element with continuity meter to see if it's broken. Then, check the part number from the Maytag website and price up a replacement. I would also check Ebay if the unti is older and you want to save some money on the part.

Good luck and be careful...always do your continuity checks with unit unplugged.

My maytag electric dryer will not heat up. it's a de107

Have someone check to be sure you have 240 volts to the plug. The dryer will run on 120 volts but must have 240 volts to the heating unit. If you 240 volts you probably need a heating element or control.

Dryer wont heat

First answer is yes; high resistance is good. I am not sure I understand the second question. The reasion one has to isolate the element is to avoid resistance from other parts. This, I believe , is the most likly problem.

Maytag electric dryer model DE410' Dryer motor runs normally and freely; N0 HEAT is produced by the dryer element. electric heat element presumably is not working. Cold air is emitted from the exhaust....

check all of those "relays", htey are thermostats, monitoring you temps, they should all have continuity through them if not its bad. (temp jump it out) just to see the element glow. TEMPORARIly.. you CANNOT leave any jumped out you will damaged something. HOUSE FIRE. just wanted to instill the importance of not leaving jumped out

Replacing heating element

Hi NoNicky. I do not own a Maytag, but did find information about it on a couple of sites I've used before for my Kenmore. I'll include an image that should be for your model (they list MDE7500AYQ and MDE7500AYW). There are also details on the steps needed to gain access to the dryer and a diagram of the heating subsystem. Kenneth P.
