You can remove or change the Window's User or administrator's password and privileges. You need access to a computer with Internet access to download the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot up the laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CD which contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removal program. Click on one of these links to download HIREN'S BOOTCD :- http://www.hirensbootcd.net/ http://67.20.82.163/

SOURCE: HP software will not install

this error tell us that you are not logged in with full admin rights on your computer to install software and driver package, and it also sounds like you are trying to start software install using the "run command"

There is nothing wrong with printer but you do seem to be having trouble loading the required software and driver package on your p.c.

Are you also using new Vista software/driver package for your HP OJ 4215 cause the one that came with it maybe XP.

Go to HP and download correct package, AND log on as administrator with FULL priveledges, your username (normal login) may not, from the looks of this.

How many users do you have on your computer? Check on the control panel under users and have alook at who is listed as administrator.

SOURCE: Administrator problems

You may be the primary user but your user account may not have admin rights. This is a little unusual in Windows since most users have admin rights by default (this isn't a good security practice, but Windows tends to do this anyway).

I did a quick search of the web and discovered a set of instructions that will allow you to log into your Windows computer (assuming you have Windows XP) with admin rights. Once you do, run the software again and see if it works. If it does, you're ok. If it doesn't then the problem is with the HP software and not your user rights. Good luck:

How do I get admin rights on Windows?

I'm trying to install a program and my computer keeps telling me I don't have administrator privileges?

That happens when you are running a user account that is not the administrator account. In many ways this is smart because trojans and viruses have the same trouble installing. In schools or office buildings where they want to control who installs what on the computers it makes less problems for an administrator to fix. In your case switch users and log into your administrator account in control panel see if you can give your usual user account administrator privileges, shut down administrator account and log into your usual account and see if it now has administrator privileges in the control panel/user accounts. If not then install software while logged in the administrator account but install for all users from now on. Or you can only use the administrator account and set it up the way you like it (like your regular user account)

I have installed the software on my students' computers under my teacher account. When students log in, they can't run the program. I can't install under their accounts, as they do not have...

I'm not familiar with the specific application, however the most likely problem is that the software requires write access to either or both its program directory or registry hive, most likely the former
You may be able to adjust the program settings to prevent it from trying to write to the program directory.
Alternatively you can grant access to this directory to your students.
This directory will most likely be in something like C:\program files\Encore
To do this
  1. Log in as admin account (presumably your teacher account)
  2. browse to C:\Program Files
  3. Right Click on Encore (or whatever directory you installed into)
  4. Select Properties
  5. Select Security
  6. Enable 'Modify' privilege to a user group that 'students' are a member of..(you may have to add the group and then enable modify)
  7. Login as student and test

If this doesn't work you could try editing the registry hive but this is riskier, so if the above doesn't work then please provide further info including what OS version you are using etc and I'll try to help you further
I hope this helps and good luck! If you have more questions - ask away!
Please take the time to rate this answer
Many Thanks K.

Installation of iTunes won't finish

Have you tried installing it in Safe Mode?
Restart the computer, pressing F8 as it boots up. Select "Safe Mode" on the menu that comes up. Log in to the Administrator account (shouldn't have a password unless you put one in), and try installing iTunes again.

Default admin password? I didn't set an admin password, what is the default admin password?

Is the installation software being installed on an account with administrator privileges? If not, log off and log back on with an account that has admin privileges. If your account has admin privileges, and the install asks for the password, and you know you have not set such a password, pressing the enter key may skip this problem.
