So the speakers are working but the mini hifi is not generating any sound to them. Replace the mini hifi, keep the speakers.

Please try with other CD and if still not working there might be problem with the cd reader..!

U didnt mention the location of your living... kindly visit your nearest philips center and ask them to replace your trimmer with a new one.

Runa Repair in the Philips Device Manager - make sure the lock switch is not engaged.

Try installing a pair of new alkaline batteries into the remote. If the problem persists, I would suspect the remote is defective and return it to the store for a refund. I have used Philips remotes twice before, and had problems with both of them. I switched to a One-for-All universal remote, and it has been trouble-free, so far.
