650 sub zero that has a vacuum condenser message returns.

650 sub zero has a vacuum condenser message that returns after cleaning the condenser and turning the unit off to reset the message. Within 24 hours the message returns. One post stated it is a long run time message from the compressor. What does that mean and what needs to be done to fix it, if anything?

We had the subzero service center take a look at the unit and it was a leak in the evaporative coil. Thanks for the help.

I have seen this many times and have fixed the problem many times. You may notice a ball of frost or ice build up in the fresh food compartment, This is because you have a leak in your evaporator coil and it needs to be replaced. It is a pretty costly repair but well worth it in consideration to what you paid for this unit or what the cost of a new one would be. Because it has less freon in it is why the compressor is running longer and causing message to pop up. Have the evaporator replaced in the section that is giving the issue and this will solve your problem with the unit.

My light says "vacuum condenser". I cleaned coils and fan and turned unit back on. Light came back on in few days, also don't know where reset switch is. Thanks

Good day,
The power off/on switch is the reset proceedure on most Sub Zero's however, it initially comes on when the unit senses the temperatures are too high, leaving the compressor.
It also is a known fact that a Sub Zero condenser cannot be cleaned by vacuuming only.
Service techs use either compressed air or nitrogen with a hose to blow the condenser clean.
Lacking that, a good push -pull shop vac with a crevice tool makes a good substitute.
Remove top grille, and the cover plate for the compressors.
Aggressively blow the condenser out from both sides.
Make sure it is clean, by shining a light on the inlet side, and making sure you can see thru the fins.
It's ugly, dirty and makes a real mess,
But the option long term, is winding up replacing the compressor(s).

My 650 flashes vaccum condenser i turned it off and did then turned it back on. a day later it flashes the same massage again does it have a reset or is there something else i need to do

Good day,
Cleaning the condenser is what the correct term should be. To vacuum many times does a poor job. I use either a compressed air tank with a hose, or else a push-pull vacuum cleaner with the hose and a crevice tool attachment on the end to blow the condenser clean.

Can create a mess at the time, but the condenser will be clean, and the purpose is to protect the compressor.

Top of grill is held by a spring. Pull out the top and lift the grill to remove. It can then be dropped down out of your way.

Sub zero frig

First check the condenser up top behind the grille and on the right side. If it is clogged with dirt, shut it down and use a vacuum to remove the dust. If tis clean then look at the display. Does it read "service" or "vacuum condenser" Also, whhat temp does the freezer read on the display? Lastly is it saying anything like "EC40"? These may be clues as to the problem. Let me know about this and I can give you more help if necessary. Good luck!
