Question about Belkin Cable/DSL Wireless Router 4 x 10/100Base-TX 1 x 10/100Base-TX Cable/DSL Wireless Router (F5D72304FT)
Recently we got a new internet provider " Wild Blue" and I got a new lap top, which I am trying to keep hidden from my son, which Ironically he could fix this in like 5 minutes.. but... my router and my computer are working, but not jiving properly.. Is there any way I can get them to work together at there peak.. I got a HP.. laptop.. Someone told me to find the dynamic ip Address.. I have no idea what the hell this is... Blonde and dumn... lol...
I suppose the new laptop has Vista on it.
find out the settings for the new provider and connect to the router with ethernet cable.
type in the browser address bar the address of the router interface:
192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 usually.
put in the password (usually default is admin)and copy the settings in the corresponding fields,
usually there's a wizard for this.
the make sure to go in the wireless settings and set the wireless to enabled. find an option like DHCP server and make sure it's enabled. you can enter a passcode for your wireless, but it's not required, you can also set it to unsafe mode...
the you should be able to go to:
start>control panel>network center>connect to.
and connect to the wireless network
the you are probably good and should be surfing the web

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
