The control supposedly controls the mix of the echo... this is a reverb type sound. Please note that room acoustics AND if the mic's "hear" the speaker in this, it may create an echo that is NOT under control of the adjustment. Make sure the mic's cannot "hear" the speaker or a reflection off a wall.
Echo is caused by a number of variables. Are you in a large room with mic extended away from you? Mic too far away will create echo. Also try turning down the gain for the mic
I had a similar problem, the solution was as simple as not playing your voice through the speakers. The problem sounds like one of feedback. There are companies that sell phones that hook up to your usb port and will not cause this type of problem. Another solution may be lowering the volume on your mic.
Because this GPS was manufactured really bad is why that happens.

When i try to talk to talk to anyone on msn with the VX6000 webcam they cannot hear me for screeches, echos and distorted voice, i have tried everything on support site and got nowhere. When i test in voice playback it does the same. Any help appreciated!
Try the following:
Go to the Control Panel (in classic mode). Open Sound devices. Change tab to Voice / Microphone. Press Test Software. Wait a couple of seconds. A small guide begins now. The problem is that the Microphone volume is set to high. Try to adjust these settings and see where it gets you. Usually does it for me.
Also, try to not have the mic near the speakers.
(I translated the steps from my swedish version of XP, look for similiarities.)
