I'm almost certain you have a bad LCD panel tab connection. Common problem with sets that use Samsung panels. There are cheap fixes for this but require you to take the TV apart. Go to Youtube.com, and search Sony LCD panel, there should be several videos addressing this problem

SOURCE: my hitachi ld328700 lcd tv picture has gone faulty

ALL LCD/Plasma televisions have adjustment for convergence, RGB drive, color saturation and a virtual host of other parameters than can be adjusted through the "technician's service menu".
Unfortunately, you are not supplied with the information to access that menu and you're limited to a "user's menu" which allows you to only adjust some of the basics, like volume, tone, color, tint and several more.

Methods of access vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. And the main reason that a consumer isn't given access to these menus is simply because they can totally screw up a set with just the push of a button, requiring hours to correct by a qualified technician.

Of course, most all of them have a factory default to recover most of the settings, but there's still a lot of finite settings that would have to be adjusted to get your TV looking right again.

Depending on the LCD manufacturer, it may be adjustable for your specific set, or you could have a problem with the LCD digital or driver modules. Even the LCD display itself could be failing.

Best bet is to call a QAUALIFIED technician and have it checked out. If you don't have an extended service plan from where you purchased the set, or if it's out of manufacturer's warranty, some of the repairs could be quite expensive. enough so that it may be worth looking into buying a replacement set.

SOURCE: screen has borders when watching tv

This is common issue of the channels that use 4:3 format while TV is designed for 16:9. To get it disappear, you just go to picture option, choose WIDE FIT, this fuction will widen the picture to whole screen. Of course, you have to accept the picture is blur a bit.

Sounds like bad capacitors on the power supply board. Locate power supply board, remove it carefully and check capacitors on an esr meter.

IMAGE STAYS ON FOR AN LONG TIME

Sounds possibly like image retention. If you watch the same channels often any recurring text, logos, or graphics, especially white colored, can ghost on the screen.(playing the same videogame for a long period can also have the same effect) Watching other programs or channels will cause the ghosting to disappear.

To prevent image retention you need to activate the TVs anti image retention mode(Called ISM Method). On Zenith and LG (the manufacturer of Zenith T
s) plasma TVs open the TVs menu, select the Option section (picture of a briefcase with a wrench). Select ISM Method and change it to Orbiter, this is reccomended if you watch programs or channels (or play videogames) that have still images for long periods of time. It moves the image a little every couple minutes.

If watching others channels or programs doesn't make the image disappear, change the ISM Method to either Color Wash or White Wash (don't use White Wash frequently, it over excites the plasma gas and can shorten the life of your TV if overused) for a few minutes and then return to Orbiter.

the tab bonds on the lcd panel where they attach to the Drive circuits above the TCON samsung is famous for bad flex tab bonds. Does the screen appear llike its in slow motion and double immages in that half of the screen as well as appear to have dark bands aross the screen? If so its probably the flex tab bonds.

Hi! I am experiencing the following three

Hi Rafael,

First of all thank you for posting your question here at Fixya.
Please confirm if the brand and model number above is correct.
Blinking of the the LED (yellow and blue) at the front panel indicating that the lamp door cover is not seated properly. This cover will engaged to a micro switch giving the signal to the processor, once it is in open position, the unit will not power up and will experienced that kind of blinking error code. Go back to the lamp door cover and ensure that it is properly seat-in.
3D, 2D, red/green/blue ghost on the picture and letters means that the convergence circuitry gone bad. Symptoms is not connected to the light engine. The faulty parts is the convergence chips(IC). This chips are mounted on the large aluminum heat sink and starts with STKXXXX-XX (X means number). The most common STK chips used on Projection TV's is the STK392-110. You have to replaced them both on the board to resolve the issue(red ghosting). It is necessary also to check the resistance value of the resistors around its circuitry using the multimeter. For more info how to repair a convergence problem, watch the video below.

When i turns off video for to get the channel 3 back aucan signal comes up how would i get back to the channel 3 to watch tv

If your DISH remote is programmed to operate your TV, you can press the TV button at the top of the remote and release it. On the number pad, press the number 3. If you get a picture, press the SAT button on release it. You can now operate your satellite receiver.

If you don't get a picture, use the TV remote to place the TV on channel 3 or you can use the channel button on your TV.

Phillips 60" magnavox chassis # PTV843

Hello lagqboy,
It looks like you are having a high voltage problem where one or more of the HV components are failing. The picture starting off small and the growing as the TV heats up is a sign of this (high voltage) problem. The problem experienced when a bright scene occurs is due to poor high voltage regulation. I would suggest that you take this set to a qualified TV repair shop due to the fact that the section I am talking about deals with voltages that can be fatal.
I hope this helps,
Thank you,
