I have had this monitor for a few months when one day i turned it on and i had yellow on half my screen. when you first power it the acer logo comes on and nothing is wrong but as soon as the windows logo comes on and it's loading exactly half of the screen has a yellowish tint to it. just the left side. could it be the video cable or something else?
If the displayed logo is good, but windows is not, it suggests a problem with the windows graphic driver or windows itself. In the early stage of boot, it uses a graphic display from the BIOS. This changes to the Windows display as it gets on its feet. If you have Knoppix or some bootable CD/DVD, try that. Then you will know if it is Software or hardware.
Sounds like the backlight or inverter might need replaced. It's pretty common on LCD monitors. It's best to call a local repair shop to do that unless you know what you're doing.
