No power output from my vector 1000w inverter.

When i bought my inverter brand new I tested it with jumper cables and it worked fine. then i hard wired it with #2 welding wire directly to the battery. I tested it with a 500w work light and it worked fine. then i let it sit for maybe 10 minutes (with the light off). when i came back the red light was on and the power level lights would flash every 3 seconds or so. I can hear the fan trying to start every time the power level lights flash. No output at all. There's a small ground terminal on the back side but I thought that was to be used only if it wasn't mounted to something metal. Is that right?Any ideas? thanks, bryan

Sounds like a ground issue,Try this,Take the jumper cables and hook just the neg clamp tho the battery and the other end to the case of the inverter for a direct ground and see if that works..

1000W EverStart power inverter. Tested it when I bought it on a lamp, and worked fine. Now months later, today, I needed it to run my 5A sump pump and it worked fine to fill two drums.

My guess is it overheated and shutdown or crowbared output due to overload.

Are you sure the sump pump uses 5A. Suggest you measure actual current delivered from the inverter.

Unplug everything shut it off and wait a few minutes and see if the inverter recovers.

Hello, I hear you. Was the reason to supply 240 volts? When you try the inverters separately, do you get 120Volts output? Let us look at the units working individually first and go from there.

Bought a new vector maxxsst 1200 watt inverter

Inverter run on batteries sir, and if these batteries are not charged, the run time {the number of hours it will work} reduces.
S0, you will need to connect the inverter to a power source.Theses will allow your batteries to be charged and enable it to run for a long period of time.
Make sure your batteries are still OK.i.e working properly

No power output from my vector 1000w inverter.

Buy a different brand of inverter. Yours has developed a short which the protection circuit is catching. It then tries a restart but fails all over again. Most likely o/p short which looks like an overload to the inverter.
