you cannot light the pilot on that oven manually. that oven is eletronic ignition. take off the panel under the doors, turn on the oven, and turn the thermostat to 350. if you see sparking on both the right and left burners, you and it doesnt light, you need to see if the gas solenoid on the right side of the burner is getting power. if it is and nothing lit relace it. if it is not, replace the ignition board
It has a common ignitor so when you start one they all spark when you press the knob in. If you have spark anywhere then the igniter works.
if you don't get ignition of flame look at the burner to see its spark. If no spark lift the burner cap and gently wire brush the metal edge of the ceramic igniter. Be sure to leave the gas off and don't scratch the white ceramic. You can use a kitchen scrub pad effectively if you don't have a brush. Corrosion on that cap will stop the spark. If that doesn't work clean the cap as below.
if you have a spark then clean the burner cap as corrosion which will cause the fuel air mixture to be wrong and not burn. Use a wire brush to remove corrosion from the edges of the cap and inside the cap where the air and gas mix. Also this cleaning will ensure a good electrical path for the spark from the igniter to the stove ground. Also very gently rub the spike beside the igniter as it is the thermocouple that tells the stove valve that the burner is on. This lets gas flow without you holding the knob.
If this doesn't work then you need to look for the igniter connection to that spark.
Gas does not ignite. No spark. No Ignition light is not ON.
1. Shorted electrode on igniter/flame sense.
2. Igniter cable (high voltage) OPEN.
3. Heat relay malfunction.
4. Centrifugal switch in blower motor inoperative.
5. Transformer inoperative.
6. High limit thermostat open.
7. Interconnecting wiring malfunction.
8. Ignition module malfunction.
Sparks but gas does not ignite.
1. Gas solenoid valve off or inoperative.
2. Manual gas valve closed.
3. Gas supply OFF or insufficient gas pressure.
4. Inerconnecting wiring malfunction.
5. Igniton module malfunction.
Well first you need to verify that it is getting proper gas pressure to that burner. Try lighting the burner manually with a match. Does the burner look normal? If the burner flame is really small then you will need to remove the burner head and check the orfice for a restriction. If it looks normal then it probably is a weak spark from the igniter, igniter electrode is out of position, or burner head has dirty ports at electrode causing no ignition. Inspect the burner head. If it is removable then take it off and clean out the burner ports(eyes) with a sewing needle. If it is not easily removable then try doing this while it is still installed on the range. Also try using a wire brush on the electrode to clean any carbon/debris build-up casuing a weak spark. You can also try bending the electrode slightly with a flatblade screwdriver(be careful don't break the elctrode) away from the burner creating a larger spark.
No, actually each knob has its own switch and any knob will energize the spark module which sparks at all burners. So, just replace the defective switch which slides over the shaft of the gas valve. Careful! unplug the unit, these are 120 volt switches. Good luck.
The bake is seperate from the burner ignition system. You may need a new spark module for the top burners. All burners should spark at the same time even if you are only trying to lite one burner.
When you turn the burner dial, all igniters spark. Most brands work this way. The dial activates all igniters to spark but only opens the gas valve attached to that dial.
Do you mean that they continue to spark even when you are not trying to light the stove?
i wasnt in on this from the begging but have you changed the safty valve on the burners and what code is er-5 havnt had no experence with vulcan but the regulater dont run the gas the safty valve does and have you checked the probe in the oven at 70 degrees it should be 1200 ohms
Like an electronic igniter for a gas grill? I believe you can pick up a replacement. Call Lowes or Homedepot. I know i have saw individual igniter's before my friends bought some for my friend and I when we were little to make potato cannons.
