END button all of a sudden my end button doesnt work;; i need to turn the phone off by taking the battery out and it wont turn back on unless its plugged into a charger. im traveling tomorrow and i dont know what to do. can anyone help?

Take out the battery for an hour or so, then replace it. If the problem persists hold down the power off button (usually the end call button) for as long as it takes for the phone to turn off. If that turns it off, wait a few minutes and power it on again.

Try taking the battery out for about 30 seconds then turning it back on. If that doesn't work, try running on air programming if that is available to you. Check with your customer service for that.

This isn't really a solution but just my advice: regardless of whether it's a problem with the phone or the software, you'd have to either take it to a Verizon Wireless location to have them try and fix it (which is highly unlikely) or call up tech support. To me it sounds like some kind of software problem because it's highly unlikely that BOTH the inside & outside end/pwr buttons would be broken but ALL the other buttons on the phone work just fine. Most likely, as long as the phone hasn't been mishandled, ex.:dropped in water or on the ground, they will probably send you a "certified like new" phone in the same color/style as long as it's in stock, and then you will have to send back your phone. My one question is this: if you are not in a call but go into, say, your pictures folder or your contacts, and then push the end/pwr button, will it work then and take you back to the main screen or does it just completely not work at all in any fashion? I have an answer for the 3-2 red light blink w/black screen. Remove the battery, hold the end call button and put the battery back in. The red light should stay on for a while now. Push and hold the call button and alternate with the end call button untill the hourglass shows. Allow some time to boot up. I stumbled upon this, so if this doesnt work, try simmilar procedrues. I did get mine to work. Good Luck, dont give up, it flashes that 3-2 code for a reason.

First, take the battery out and put it back in to reset it. Then try again to see if you can manually turn it off.

This resets the phone and is the first step in troubleshooting.

Another thing I would do, is test to see if there is something wrong with the end button itself. With a flip phone, normally the end button is unneeded because you close it to hang up. Try ending a call using that button to see if it is a broken keypad issue.

I would also have the local store update the firmware, which should repair any files that may be corrupted, if that is the case.

Also, if the phone has any water damage (when you open the back of the phone, there will be a red dot instead of a white one), this can cause all sorts of crazy problems.

If none of the above solutions work, the only other way to power your phone off is just to remove the battery. You should be able to put the battery back in without the phone restarting, but if it does, just keep the battery out when you want the phone off.

have the firmware reflash that should correct the issues.
