Bing is a search web engine; there are many others like, google, yahoo, duckduckgo and such. What you need to do is set some other search web engine (as I had mentioned) as your default in the web browser (other than Bing)
To make Google your default search engine, in Chrome, click the three bars to the far right of the Chrome browser, click Settings, Set the programs you want to run as your Home Page, removing Bing, then click "Manage Search Engines", and get rid of the engines you don't want to keep by clicking the X when you hover over them, and click "Make default" on the one you prefer. Also remove Bing from "Programs and Features" within the Control Panel. Other browsers have a similar way to change search engine preferences: sometimes by an icon next to the Search box that lets you "Manage" them.
Sometimes when you download a program, or an update for a program, there will be a box/button to add Bing as your search engine, and maybe a toolbar too. In the future, always look at the different prompts that pop up and deselect the buttons for such extras.
If you want to change your default search engine, go to Settings( "chrome://settings" - no quotes), under Search, click on Bing and choose a different search engine.
If you want to change your homepage, go to Settings again, under On Startup click Set Pages.
Bing is the default search engine for Internet Explorer. If you need to keep Google search as your default, then go to Internet Explorer settings and make sure that Google has the word "default" beside it.
No, it is probably not a virus. Links are addresses for other pages that may not be typed correctly, or the web site/page was moved or no longer exists. (See below for clarification on unexpected results.) If you use MS Explorer, it allows you to choose primary search engines. After updating Explorer, you can keep Google as primary, but Bing will be easily accessed by clicking on the Google Icon in the search box. A menu will drop down and show Bing as an option. Also, you should be able to type Bing into any search engine and search from the Bing homepage. If you are clicking on a bing search on the MSN home page and being blocked, I'll betcha Microsoft would love to know that. Lastly, there is such a thing as Browser Hijackers. If you click on something or suddenly find yourself in an unexpected place after using a trusted search engine, that would be a hint. The solution is to keep all software updated to avoid lapses in security that allow Bugs into your system.
