I have an asus n53jg laptop which will not turn on

As per I know, sometimes laptops just fails start-up after finishing windows updates. So, what you can do is install a fresh copy of windows or repair System Start-up with a windows installation DVD.

Thanks

Problem with sound in XP3. I'm having win Xp 3. Pror to that my desktop had win 7. Fr a few months all was fine. Than the SMPS blew up. Had it fixed. Now everything is fine. Presently my OS is Wn XP3....

After a fresh install of an operating system you have to set up your sound again
if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question exclamation mark? ! or a red X Right click to reinstall drivers
click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers make sure you have selected the
(((appropriate speakers))) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there
also
click start control panel sounds and audio devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box untick it
if his does not fix the problem
click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar for any further volume control settings you will need to right click on the volume icon system select adjust volume

click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) also you might check
the speaker plug/outlets is usually at the back of the computer or if it

How do you turn up the volume? It only goes down.

To the best of my knowledge volume control on LCD monitors is controlled by the device that it is hooked up to. You probably have an 1/8" headphone type cable plugged into the back of it which runs down to your computer and is plugged into the Line Out / Speaker jack. So when you turn up the volume on the computer it should turn up the volume to the speakers in the LCD Screen. Let me know if you need more help, and if this fixed your problem please mark this as solved. Thanks.

Cant turn up volume my compaq presario laptop

Ok it could be a few things, I am assuming that you are using XP and its a laptop, so lets try these:
  1. Can you turn up the volume by using Control Panel -- Sounds and Audio Devices --- Device Volume slider?
  2. On some Compaqs, the controls for audio are activated by holding down the FUNCTION key (usually blue letters on key on the left side of keyboard) and then pressing the audio up or audio down key. These keys are usally towards the top of the keyboard. These keys can do multiple things depending if the blue function key is press down first. They can control things like switching between internal and external displays, turning up/down the brightness on your laptop display and controling your audio levels too.
  3. Do you hear any sounds at all, if not, does Device Manager list your sound device?
  4. If this is a desktop PC, number 2 does not apply.
ok try those and let me know, Thx! =)
