You don't need any special software.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

SOURCE: Kodak EasyShare C653 Camera, cannot connect to my macbook

Try a dig. USB plug,
Try a dif. cable.
Try with a cardreader.

If your cable is faulty it is covered under the same 1 year warranty as the cam.

Lcd turns off

Hi,

You probably have a malfunctioning charging unit, a bad battery, or a defective display,

Suggestions:
  1. Borrow a compatible charger and fully charge the battery.
  2. Install a new battery and see if the problem persists,
  3. Replace the display though it's it's and expensive procedure for such an old camera. It will be much cheaper to go on eBay and upgrade your Kodak EasyShare CX7300 Digital Camera.

There's no need for a CD-you can download EASYSHARE Software for free!
(If you're running MAC OS, you have the option of using APPLE iPHOTO-bundled with your computer-to transfer, edit, and share pictures.)

1. Locate and select the software for your computer-WINDOWS or MAC.
2. Follow the instructions to download and install the software.

Transferring Pictures from Camera to Computer

. Forget Kodak or any other software that comes with a camera- just leave the disk in the box. Plug the camera into the computer- set the upload setting switch on. The computer will come up with 'found new hardware and a new drive will show in My computer click on it and there are your pictures in a folder. Click on the folder, go to Edit, Copy and go to a folder you choose and right click paste.- job done. Also The computer will very likely put up a Window asking what do you what to do with the pictures Just follow the prompts. if you want picture editing software for free just Google 'Picasa'

Downloading pictures from camera to computer, how do i get started?

Here is the link to the user manual if you need it; http://www.kodak.com/global/plugins/acrobat/en/service/manuals/urg00205/CX7300_GLB_en.pdf Check page 27 of the manual (page 34 of the pdf file) onwards - it describes connecting your camera to a PC. You need a USB cable, and certain installed software (page 22 of the manual, page 29 of the pdf file, explains this procedure) on the computer you wish to attach the camera to. If you no longer have the Kodak software CD, then you can download the software from this link; http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/downloads/dln_ekn028570.jhtml?pq-path=1946 If you have any trouble with installing the software or getting a cable then please post again and we can talk you through it all. Hope this helps :)
