Bosch Stove will not work

Ok more detail. We moved the stove over seas to Thailand for our house. It is a 110 uint. I have a 1500 watt transformer to covert the 220 to 110. The transformer is putting out 105v ac. When I plug the stove in, the display will light up for a second or two, then turn off. It will do this again and again. I have check the main board for fuses and mad sure there are no loss wires. Thank You Bruce

ok some more news. New transformer puts out 110vac, and the sparkers work on the burners. The board still goes on and off. Bruce

Is your power 50 cycles? If it is the electronics in the stove need 60 cycles. You might want to contact a local bosch dealer there to see if there is a board meant to work on 50 cycles.

The likely cause of this is a failed heater element which would cause the fuse to blow. You will need to get the heater element checked out and replaced if necessary. A visual inspection of the element may reveal the problem jf not an electrical test will be necessary. Be sure to switch off the power before touching the heater element.

I have kenmore c880 model stove , both oven and stove are not heating up after shifting to new house...any tips to get it resolved? Only oven light is working.

Make sure there is 220 volts at the wall socket where you plug the oven into. A faulty circuit breaker in the power panel on your house will only let 110 volts get to the oven so the lights and timers will work but not the heating elements.

Why does my oven does not work but top burners are good

Not sure but newer stoves have 4 wires 2 110 and 1 ground and 1 neutral. Older stoves had 2 110 and only 1 ground. The oven sometimes used the ground a sa neutral for little motors, displays, etc. make sure that the third wire on your plug has a good ground and see if that helps

Loud pop from Range, stove top still works

The pop was a shorted wire.
The short drew sudden over-amp at breaker.
Amps = heat.
Breaker senses heat and trips before wire to oven is damaged, and before the arcing short can cause a fire.
Was the short at the element?
I don't know, but sounds like the circuit board was damaged.
Of course they are putting electronics inside all appliances today instead of old mechanical dial, because it's cheaper or so much prettier... but new appliances more vulnerable to surge, and other electrical failures. Which is true for all 240V appliances not protected by whole house surge protector.
To test element.
Remove element.
Use a continuity tester across the element connections.
If there is continuity, then the element is probably functional.
Use a multimeter across same element, set multimeter to read ohms.
240 Volt, 3500 watt element should be about 16 ohms.
4500 watt about 12-13 ohms
Volts squared divided by watts = ohms
57,600 divided by 4500 watt = 12.8 ohms

I would guess that the short fried the circuit board, but there is a also a shorted wire somewhere that is still bare and dangerous while power is ON and you are touching oven or stove, unless 240V breaker is GFCI or arc fault, which probably not. Especially dangerous if you are moving stuff around trying to find problem while power is ON.

I have a electric dryer Model WED5810SW0 THAT I WAS TOLD I COULD CONVERT TO 120V from 240v is this true and if so how do i do this?

If you consider doing this the first thing is SHUT THE MAIN BREAKER OFF. Use an auxiliary light source to see when working in a dead panel. Always keep in mind an ARC FLASH ACROSS HOT MAINS HAS ENOUGH HEAT TO PEAL THE SKIN OFF OF YOU. Before an explanation of how to do it you should keep in mind that this is for a single receptacle only. If any other receptacles are on the same circuit they will also be changed to 240 volt receptacles and if you plug any 120 volt device into them, the 120 volt device will be destroyed. That said OK, any 120 volt outlet can be changed to 240 volt by removing the 120 volt circuits neutral, re identifying the white wire with red or black phase tape and connecting it to a new 2 pole 15 amp breaker. The maximum that this circuit will now load up to is, on #14 wire at 80% = 12 amps at 240 volts. The 120V receptacle must be changed to a 15A - 240V receptacle so that 120 volt devices can not be plugged into it. Never use 2 single pole breakers together because code requires that on a fault trip both legs of the 240V circuit must be disconnected simultaneously. Voltage converter buying guide. Voltage Transformer Buying guide.Voltage converters also known as voltage transformers are devices that convert foreign electricity to power devices from different parts of the world. A step down voltage converter is a 220 to 110 volts converter. A step up converter is a 110 volts to 220 volts converter. Our 2-way converters are voltage transformers that convert power from both 220 to 110 volts and 110 to 220 volts. They also work with 100 volts, 110 volts, 120 volts, 220 volts and 240 volts. Whirlpool electric range super capacity 465 RF 377PXGQ0 SER# RH 4718582 the stove burners work nothing else works the control panel and oven are not working at all no lights at all... everything...

Ok
you must have a problem with you neutral leg .
Check to mak sure all 3 wires from power cord are securely connected to machine. Next make sure recepticle at the wall
has a good neutral. Use volt meter to check your recepticle.
You should get 110 volts between any top and the bottom slot.
No 110 volts means check house wiring or recepticle
Yes 110 volts means problem with neutral wiring in machine.(Not likely)
good luck

Honda EU30001 generator causes erratic pellet stove operation.

Ok Motors and the like generally DO NOT really go all that well from a generator, what load does the Stove use?, You must add up the cumlitive "Wattages" of ALL things connected, see your generator is about 3000 Watts, 3KW, How much "headroom" is there between the two? Whats supplied versus whats being used? Purely inductive loads, like Motors etc, are less responsive than electronic loads. I suspect that your generator is NOT providing enough current to the Stove, especially when "Other" things are connected. also. Look, if the, any, generator is 3000 Watts really you should only load it up to a couple of KW's, 2.5KW being about maximum. To do what you are doing would require, IMHO, at least, 5KW, to get the "Headroom" of current drawn over current able to be delivered by the generator. Also inductive loads loose heaps of power and actually cause a higher draw. So that your answer, you must use it well, inside it's rating, not right up to the limit.
