Check for any air leaks within the unit's door and seal area. See if you notice any blockages in the damper door or switch that is between the two doors. Then contact a professional.

SOURCE: I've got an electrolux frost

remove the back panel inside the freezer and check for ice build up on the evaporator pipework. if ice build up, this prevents air flow and hence temp rises.
remove ice carefully with a hair dryer and it should work. if problem comes back, you have a problem with the defrost system and get back to me if you want

SOURCE: We have a Frigidaire refrigerator-freezer that

Hello, Your problem is going to be with the cold control, it is not shutting down which is why the food is freezing, You did not supply a model # so am unable to see if theis has a thermostat or control board, will assume it has a thermostat. Most likely place to find it is where the know for controling the freezer is...usually inside the fridge. Replace this thermostat and you will be good to go...Thanks for using Fixya, if you have any additional questions or concerns please feel free to comment again. Good Luck!! Mike

Leaking Kenmore Refidgator

What is your model number? Sears Kenmore numbers look like this 321.2468102 I hear a lot of complaints from people that see water leaking into their refrigerator from seemingly nowhere. Water appears in different places and even inside or under a refrigerators that does not have a water or a ice dispenser! Frost free refrigerators defrost the ice that collects on the evaporator coil. Your refrigerator defrost on the average about every 8 hours so the water that accumulates during defrost has to go somewhere right? Yes the water is supposed to drain down a small drain line to a pan down near the compressor where warm air from the condenser fan will blow warm air over the water and evaporate the water again an put it back into the air inside your home, office or wherever your refrigerator is located. Over time that little drain tube gets slime, algae and a gooey white paste gunk that fills the drain line sides up stopping the waterflow downward to the condensate pan below refrigerator. If blocked by gunk or ice you will see trails of liquid leaking down the rear wall of fresh food compartment until it reaches the crisper drawers. Gunk is an accumulation of algae slime and just crud that appears from nowhere in a refrigerators defrost condensate drain line. How a refrigerator leaks is not always the same with every model as you may see frozen ice flowing down the rear wall of freezers on side by sides. Here is an example of a ET18PKXGTO Whirlpool refrigerator leaking water into a cup below the freezer compartment. Click here=> Whirlpool Leak Photo taken by TechnicianBrian. TechnicianBrian.com. And in this photo are several parts listed in photo group #1 were it is most likely running down the wall=> MagicChef CTB1921AR fresh food section. If you still have questions please ask and rate me if I was able to explain this well enough. Every refrigerator is made different so these are examples only. The key is to find if ice or just gunk has blocked you defrost drain. Unplug and then remove the rear panel in back of freezer. We need to see if the water is overflowing the condensate drain tray or if the blockage is in the turn the drain leads down back of your refrigerator. Much more on this page=> Leaking Refrigerators! If you run into any problems along the way of repair please let me know, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Every 12 hours or so a small pool of water emerges from underneath my refrigerator. I also note that, under the shelves inside the fridge section, water is condensing under the shelves. I have tried...

When defrosting, were you able to check the back of the unit inside if the panel accumulated ice? You may need to unscrew it t check the back side. Sometimes the water or ice comes from that area. Check also of the thermostat located in that area may have been frozen which sends a wrong reading to the control unit. When you have cleaned the unit make sure you have cleaned the drains for debris. It may also be a problem with just the drain which sends water into the tray underneath. It may not be aligned.

Water leaking

the bottom tray/salad compartment will always get a fair amount of condensation because they are glossy plastic(bathroom paint is matt)the only "cure" is kitchen towel under the tray and remove once a week.as for the drain it is normally at the back and does collect a fair amount of "moss"in the tube, pour some clorine bleach down to clear any out.the design of the shelves directs the side/back condensation down the drain.

Water accumulating in bottom of kenmore

It's likely the condensate drain is plugged. You can access it from the back of the refrigerator. You can disconnect from the inside of the fridge and blow it out to ensure it is not blocked, then reconnect.

Whirlpool refrigerator - condensation, ?clogged drain

The stopped up drain tube is inside the freezer probably behind the rear wall. There should be screws in it to remove it. Remove any ice at the bottome and you should be able to see it. I don't know about the wheel.

Refrigerator condensation

I have a Kenmore Coldspot Model 70262990. When I get wet shelves (water, not just condensation), I was able to trace my source to the cold air vent from the freezer. In my case, the water melts from the evaporator and collects in the rear lower section of the freezer. It is "supposed" to go down the drain tube. However I had the drain hole freeze over. Then additional water from the defrost cycle would accumulate in the freezer floor (under the plastic floor) and eventually find its way down the cold air vent between the freezer and refrigerator section. You'll need to unplug the unit, take the plastic floor out of the freezer, remove the evaporator panel to access the defrost drain, melt the frozen water (hair drier works nice), and remove all the water (towel/sponge & bucket). Make sure the drain is not frozen and not blocked. Then put it back together and plug it in.

Does anyone know how to stop the drain tube from freezing over?

Good luck.
