Sounds like the application you are running may not be compatible with Windows 98. Probably can't do much as Windows 98 is so old.

Although it may be a missing file, DLL, or driver on your Windows 98 system, hard to tell.

SOURCE: system says that program not responding

From what you put on this, it seems that you have a KERNAL32 error.
Fault Module Name: kernel32.dll

the application being Windows Media Player
Application Name: wmplayer.exe

I've researched this thru microsoft and the best thing I can find

Go to Start - > Type Run in the Search Box - > type regsvr32wmp.dll

What operating system are you using? Because the KERNEL32.DLL file is a 32-bit dynamic link library file that is found in Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows Millenium Edition (ME).

In the middle of installing Windows 98 in Virtualbox I get a message Application Error SUWIN caused an Illegal Instruction in module VGA.DRV at 0001:011B. How can I fix this error?

Is this occuring during the install?

If this is the case, try this (it will be useful to know when the problem occurs):

Go to the VM Settings
Go to System
Go to Acceleration Tab
Uncheck Enable VT x AMD V

I hope that helps.

If not, there is a guide on the virtualbox forums here

Which I would suggest trying to run through instead.

PLEASE, somebody, can you walk me through the steps I need to take to correctly install VirtualBox on my hard drive so I can run Windows XP in order tu use my PhotoDeluxe 2.0 disc which isn't even

Assuming you are running windows 7 and have an application that only runs on XP, I would suggest using XP-mode. It is single download and installs XP for you, so it is pretty easy to use for a single application.
VirtualBox is a great program, but it is probably overkill for your needs.

I am trying to install Titanic: Adventure out of Time for Windows 98. My computer currently has Windows Vista. I keep getting the following errors while trying to install the gam: this file does not...

Hi,
Welcome to Fixya. The problem that you have occurs because the program or application that you are trying to install is not compatible with windows vista. The game was released before the release of windows vista or even xp that's why it is not working. You can check the maker of the game and see if they release the patch for the windows vista version if not then there's no way you can play it on your system.
Thanks

I tried to load Print Shop Premier 5.0 into a new computer running Windows 7. I got an error message that said Print Shop Premier 5.0 would not run on the 64 bit operating system. Is there an upgrade or...

The following are some options:

  • Try running the program in 'Compatibilty' mode: this option can be found via the context menu 'properties'.
  • Install a 32 bit version of windows in a Virtual Machine and re-install this application: you can download the free VPC (Virtual PC) from Microsoft web site or VirtualBox from www.virtualbox.org (this is what I use on my W7 Ultimate 64 bits laptop as it has good USB device support).
Hope it helps and good luck.

Windows explorer has stopped working

It is possible that the application you installed in your computer is not compatible with Windows Vista. You can try to repair it using the recovery console.

1. Restart your computer.

2. As soon you have the HP logo came up. keep on tapping F8 on and off to go to the advance boot option.

3. Select the option ' Repair my Computer" . Follow the instruction.

4. Select startup repair. It will ask you to click finish when the repair is done. The system will restart itself.

Keep me posted.

Thanks.
