Try this AMD SATA ACHI (Sure it will work,,,I'm insured 100%)
http://www.4shared.com/file/244364514/141d8595/AMD_AHCI_Compatible_RAID_Drive.html
or
http://www.4shared.com/file/244365332/737959f5/32bit_ATI_SB7xx_RAIDAHCI_drive.html

I have the same prodect (dv5 1125nr AMD processor Turion X2, AMD chips and ATI VGA) and I succeed in downgrade vista and install win xp
first burn these small files in a floppy disc (press F6 in a starting of the blue installation screen when you use floppy)
http://www.datarecovery.com.sg/data_recovery/img/ra_reformat_2.gif

not: If you have 32bit windows xp cd version you have to choose AMD ACHI SATA controller X86
if you have 64bit windows xp cd version you have to choose AMD ACHI SATA controller X64

or if you haven't floppy desc dirive you can slipstream (integrate) SATA ACHI drivers into windows xp cd by lnite program (read more about, it just type it in google.com you'll get several topics).

note : in both case you have to make manual format (not quick format )
http://web.mit.edu/ist/products/winxp/advanced/reinstall01.gif

if you make NTFS quick format option you will get the blue screen screen with error
http://jmobley123.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/blue-screen-of-death1.jpg

Then you can get you drivers easly
http://www.general-search.com/download/driver-xp-dv5-1125nr

you will get all what you need about you drives

any other questions I'm at your services

my regards / Ahmed

I am trying to downgrade my HP pavilion dv6930 laptop O/S from windows vista to windows xp ,but in the process I get the message " No hard drive present "

Check your BIOS setting, if you can find a setting either IDE Controller or SATA AHCI Controller. set to Native IDE. Or during setup process you can press F6 to install appropriate third party driver to windows XP..

I bought a HP Pavilion ze4300 laptop and it has Windows XP on it and it was working fine for the past three weeks. Yesterday I started it up and am getting a message: ''Operating System not found''. One of...

It could also be the conncetion came loose, which can happen with IDE hard drives if the laptop gets moved around a lot. Remove the hard drive and take it to an electronics store to have it tested, or if you have a friend with an external enclosure (2.5" IDE interface, they cost between$10-20) you can hook it up to another computer via the USB port

Bought HP Pavilion dv2910tx,not able to install Windows XP. Help

If the install cannot detect the hard disk then the hard disk is faulty and needs replacing or the disk controller is faulty.
You can check if the hard disk is faulty by :-
Go into the BIOS and check if there a hard disk diagnostic.
If not then remove the hard drive and connect it to an USB hard drive adapter and plug it into a working computer's USB port.
If this computer see it as an external hard drive and you can view the contents of the drive then it is OK and the fault is the disk controller on the laptop.
To setup XP.
You insert the Windows CD and boot up the laptop with the CD.
You have done this correctly to get the hard disk error message.
