"memory full" but SD cards are empty

I filled up an SD card with pictures and uploaded them to my computer. When I tried to format the card with my camera through the set up menu like I always do, everything seemed fine. Wrong. Now my camera still shows "memory full", no matter which SD card I try to use. Even the internal memory shows up full even if there are no pictures left anywhere. I tried resetting the camera, draining the batteries, putting new ones in. Nothing works. My camera won't let me take any pictures and insists that the memory is full. Please help.

Thanks, but no. I checked that too. And I tried with two other SD cards that aren't full and are unlocked.

Apparently, taking out the batteries and letting the camera sit for a few days made the problem sort itself out. When it was powered back on, the message still showed, but swapping SD cards again, it disapeared and everything seems back to normal. Hoping this never happens again!

Not sure if it will be this, but has the SD card got locked by accident? There is a little sliding button on the side of the card, which can be locked to protect the content. My camera shows the card as full if I accidentally lock the card. You can just slide it back again to unlock it. I never noticed the button was there until I accidentally knocked it while loading the card in and out of my PC to transfer the photos.

1. If you go in the setup menu.
2. Push the right button once and scroll down to the menu that says format.
3. It will ask you if you want to erase all data.
4. Select No and everything should be fine.

When i remove the sd card to upload photos to my computer my new pictures are not there but are when the sd card is in the camera?

There are two possibilities that I can think of. 1) The SD card is full. You will need to copy the pictures off the SD card and onto your computer, then format the card. You can probably do this in the camera, but MAKE SURE you have copied the pictures you want to your computer because the format will erase everything. 2) The SD card is write protected. Look closely at the SD card there is a little slide switch that "locks" the SD card so that your camera cannot put any pictures on it. This slide switch must be in the unlocked position (or NOT locked).
Hope this helps.

SD Card Problems with Vivitar Vivicam 5118!

What size is the memory card. If it's larger than 4GB then it won't work in the 5118.
Try using another card. Don't format it in your computer but do format it in the camera before trying to take pictures.

I just got a samsung sensory pleasure nv3 i put a 4 gb memory card in it and it says memory full but the card is empty

Hi
Try formatting the SD card before using it.Also, check the storage destination of the pictures, could be they're storing on your camera and not in the memory card.Make the SD card the default storage device.

Hope it helps.

DMC-zs10 records on internal memory - not on SD card

Hello bro..
Do you check your SD card? It is work ?
My solution:
1. Off Lumix camera.Until LCD was off. Press center of card to remove it.
2. Use card reader to connect your SD card to pc/netbook/laptop..
3. Check full capacity for SD card, it is empty(zero) or have it their mount.
4. If empty (full, used, free is zero) ,try reinsert card again and don' t touch the terminal.
5. If still empty, that mean, your SD card was corrupted.
6. If not empty, backup all data in SD card.
7. Format the SD card using FAT32.
8. Checking Disk.
9.Insert back to camera, and format SD card using camera menu.
10. Take picture. and see if save on SD card or not. comment back here. if succes or not.
11. Don't use any battery except original from panasonic. It will affected to product.
12. Don't remove battery or card before lcd was off light.

I just transfered over my pictures to my computer, and I erased the pictures from my SD card. When I try to take pictures, my camera says that the memory card is full. It is not full; it is empty. We have...

You need to format the card in your camera using the camera's format feature (look for it in the menus). Note that this will also erase the card, so only do such after saving any pictures that you wish to keep onto your computer's hard drive.

When I try to take a picture, it says memory full. But, when I try to look at the memory it says no file. I tried using the disk, installing software, formatting it.. Nothing works. The SD memory card is...

Format the SD card make sure the camera is set to place the new files on the SD card and not go to the internal memory. What I fully expect is the camera has defaulted to using the internal memory which is now full of files/pictures and needs to be set back to SD card. To get the pictures from the internal memory to your computer you need to load the pictures one by one from the internal memory to the SD card. Then take them from the SD card ether to a card reader to the computer or download them from the camera to the computer.

My camera says the pictures upload onto my computer but then nothing happens after that....the pictures dont upload what is the problem?

Internal Memory: 32MB
SD Card / SDHC Card (Up to 4GB support)

Possible that internal memory is empty and your are transfered zero file. Switch to external SD memory in your camera menu should take care of the problem. Get the SD card reader is your easiest option. just copy and paste the photos to my picture in your computer.

Memory card I?O error

Try using USB SD-card reader to access the files. If it fails, you need a new card.

Otherwise, try formatting the card, and test it by filling it up with test videos and test images.
