Hi there, I Like to upgrade in my I-Mate JAQ OS WM 5 TO OS WM 6,1 or 6,5 if its is possible. Please show me how to do this. Thank you, Aleksandar

Hi, I'm afraid there is no offical or unoffical ROM upgrade for your PDA yet (ROM is the place where the PocketPC operating system is stored, and each device model has a different ROM so sadly you cannot use any other Windows Mobile 6 ROMs with your device.). I am giving more details about this issue to make it clear. Still you can follow the forums time to time to check if someone makes a ROM for your PDA. Basic problem is unlike most of the PDAs, your PDA is a non-HTC based PDA. I hope this helps. You can still download some PDA software to use your device more efficiently (Most of the PDA softwares are designed for working on both WM5 and WM6, since your device uses WM5, you won't be having a problem.).

hi thanks for using fixya!!

If you cannot anymore open your pda and cannot even make a hard reset. I suggest you bring your pda to a service center so that they can check further the problem and reset it.

The connection of i-mate

hi thanks for using fixya!!

Its is very simple, if you have the CD software of your I-mate PDA 2K, just install it first to your pc, and then you need to install this, http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/activesync45.mspx

Just click the website, then download and install the activesyn to your pc.

After that, open the activesync, connect your PDA to your pc using USB cable. then it will work, just go through the instructions there and then fixya!!!

Hope it helps, just don't forget to rate my simple solution!! regards!!!

Cannot connect my PDA to PC

Hi,

Normally for when you connect any device to pc using USB port, windows detects it. Sometime it may take time.
Few initial things you may check....

1) You must have your PDA in ON condition
2) If PDA is not getting connected on port, try connecting to other USB port (assuming that pc normally have more than one USB port)
3) Make sure the cable that you are using between PDA to PC is working properly (normally you can check this by using other cable)
4) If you have intalled some anti virus program on your pc then check the settings of same.
5) last but not least check the settings of window's firewall (part of OS)

If everything of above is fine then either USB ports of pc or of PDA might not be working.

All the best!!

Regards,
Av

Accessories

I am using an I-Mate PDA2K. My problem is that once I switch on the PDA, it goes repeatedly to the "Messaging"and ultimately it reboots loosing all the data. Battery Power shows "full"upon recharging. And at times the PDA works for a day or two without this problem.

HP Ipaq H4355 PDA charging problem

Use common sense and frequently charge the battery even when the device is not used.
Draining a battery fully often kills it permanently.

Restore your PDA to factory defaults and try to make the connection again. I think it will work.
