Hi! My PDA seems to be in an off mode/ sleep mode or something. It won't turn on regardless of what I do. If I don't connect it to an AC Adapter or place in the cradle where it is connect to a power outlet - the power button doesn't work even if the battery was fully charged; however, if I somehow connect it to an power outlet - the power button would turn green but nothing would appear on the touch screen as if it had never been turn on. I try resetting it but it still wouldn't work.
Can anyone help me with this problem? Have anyone encounter the similiar problem? Thanks!
I have the same problem, interestingly it happened after I changed the settings on the power button to turn off completely instead of turning the backlight off when the power button is held down. Apparently some other people have been having that problem but able to power on by hard resetting or plugging in an SD card. Nothing has worked for me yet.I have the same problem, interestingly it happened after I changed the settings on the power button to turn off completely instead of turning the backlight off when the power button is held down. I can't turn on the power of My I-mate PDA after I put it in my drawer for 1 month.
I pressed power on button and hold for more than 30 seconds. Just couldn't turn it on.
I tried to charge it from Adapter, Car charge and USB from PC. Looks like it can't be charged at all. None of them working.
I bought it in September 2007.I have the samiler problem.

I have the same problem with my X51V. I did not use it for about 2 weeks. I tried to turn it on, but it just showed the "Dell" picture in the very beginning for about 1 or 2 seconds, then turned off by itself. After tried the same thing for about 5 times, the "Dell" picture did not show up at all, just like no power. I did connect power adaptor to my X51v.

Same problem. Sometimes can turn on with battery latch open warning and back to dead few seconds later. Suspect the battery latch cover micro switch problem. Anyone out there have any idea what's all this about? Help needed. Thanks.

My PDA won't turn on whatever I do (Dell Axim x51). I charged it, held down the reset button and nothing. Any help or clue as to what may be wrong? I haven't used it for a few weeks but it seems to be charging appropriately. I need the programs on it. Help!

Hard reset the pda (poke the little hole on the back with a ball pen or something), it should boot up, on the bootup screen, it prompts if you want to reset to factory setting, answer no. lastly reset time when you get in.
I made my I-Mate PDA-N working finally. I guess the key is to use original charger to charge the battery.
I finally noticed I used my Motorola cell charger to charge my PDA. It was working for long time, but not now. So I found my PDA charger and charged my PDA. Yeah! My PDA is back to work now. (The new battery I ordered few days ago is still on the way to my home :((((( ).

If the battery is completely dead, it could take 5 to 10 minutes after you plug it in before it will turn on.
If it's in sleep mode, there should be a light indicating this and pressing the power button should bring out of sleep (or hibernation).
If none of this works and it still won't turn on even while plugged in, there is either something wrong with the laptop or the power supply and will need to be repaired or replaced. Try replacing the power supply first as that is the cheaper option.
try a new battery yet? (brand new fresh)
sleep mode. so you want it to run for 7 days in sleep.
ive no idea how long this laptop runs in sleep
and hibernate is longer.
no idea at all.
you do know that the speed features are programmable
right?
including what chips do and do not go to sleep'
like USB ports, WIFI, and all wake on , features. like Ethernet chip.
and more.
why not just turn it off, and let the battery last longer..
this mode sleep kills batteries faster. way faster.
leave it plugged in all the time to the wall pack.
so the battery never drains unless you need to use it, on battery.
I recommend running a few programs to make sure that you don't have a virus, spyware or adware hiding in your system. Avast is a free anti-virus tool that is very effective. Super-anti-spyware is great for getting rid of spyware, and Adaware is a great anti-adware tool --- both of these are also free. Try downloading these programs (all 3) and run them on your computer -- this will likely get your system running like normal. Once you have run these, run a disk cleanup and defragmenter to get everything into tip-top shape.
There is an On Display Menu (ODM). You can access it by pushing the button located on the monitor. Use +- buttons to navigate in the menu. Here you can switch off the sleep mode or change the sleep settings. I have a simular problem... I try to turn off the power save function but it seems like it dosen´t want to understand this...
