Showing test on the screen

SomeHotpoint's are designed to go into test mode when the start button and the on/off button are pressed at the same time. If you are stuck in Test mode, simply hold the start button down until it comes out of test mode, then hold both the start buttons and the on/off button down until you see 'D:end' (or similar message). Now try a normal wash programme again and hopefully it should be fine. If it goes into test mode by itself, then it may be an indication that there is a real fault, or a faulty programmer board. hope this helps.

To exit the DEMO/TEST mode, press and hold down the "On/
OFF" and "Start/Cancel" buttons until "d off" is displayed

Try the following, may work:

1. Press the Start/Cancel button together until all the console Led's illuminate
2. Press both Start/Cancel and On/Off buttons together until 'd off' appears
3. Default screen should return and you can select a new programme

try this - press start, press start again. Now press the on/off button and the start button at the same time and hold them down for 5-10 seconds until the display shows d-end or d-off.

I switched the start/cancel which when put off the test signal and went to the on mode then i pressed the on/off and start/cancel simultaneously which showed doff and then it was all normal.

it's on test mode for the factory. this comes on if you hold the on and start buttons together. can be reset by turning on while holding both on until dOFF appears.

Hi i have a hotpoint wd 860 washer dryer the display is showing f 08 heater relay cannot be activated.can you please tell me how i can fix this problem myself.Thank You

Pressing and holding the two centre buttons ie on/off and start/cancel together for a few seconds causes the machine to run in 'test' mode. Doing the same again puts it back to normal wash.
I nearly called an engineer once because my daughter causes it all of the time!

To Deactivate

Press the Start/Cancel button until all the console LED's illuminate.
Press both Start/Cancel and On/Off buttons together until
d OFF appears.
The default screen returns and you can select a new programme.
Note:- The default screen information displayed on these models is that of the programme currently selected by the selector knob.

the applionce is in demmo mode and running a test cycle so you need to cancle the cycle first by holding the start reset button until all the screen iluminates(88:88) now you need to disable the demo mode by holding the start cancle and the on off buttons together until you see D OFF in some cases you may need to hold the button to the top left of the screen and the start and on off buttons but this will sort it
