Wrong Date - no confirmation page - Access code

Hi: We had a power failure and our fax date went back to January 1, 1996 for some reason. Also, we don't get a confirmation page after sending a fax anymore, and it occasionally asks for a 4 digit access code. We don't have a manual and no one knows how to fix these issues. I did put in "9920" when it asked for the access code and that allowed me to fax ... Can you help us? Thanks, Pattie Chase 954-769-5961 [email protected]

I have not worked on any Pitney Bowes before, but I am sure you can find a manual on their website. Sounds like you might need a firmware update. Also try justmanuals.com

Can you please deswcribe potential solutions for "ink system failure"

Hi,

There can be several reasons to get the Ink System Failure Error on the printer screen. They are

1. One or more Cartridge install by date has expired or the printer has detected that either one of the cartridge expiry date is due.
2. This can also be hardware failure issue ( Printer Life time )

These are the steps you can try to fix this issue :

1. Open the front access door where you find all the cartridges installed
2. Remove all the cartridges and clean the electrical contacts/golden contacts you find on the cartridge and also inside the printer cartridge slot
3. Check for Date on the cartridge, If any cartridge has date less than current date, you can try replacing the cartridge ( but again this is giving it a try )
4. After cleaning the cartridge contacts, install the cartridges back into the printer and close the door and wait for the printer to go through initialization process.

If you still get the same error, try a reset on printer ( doing the reset will erase printer memory like fax logs, printer will loose wireless network connection or bluetooth connection disconnected )

To do the reset :
1. Disconnect the power cord from back of printer while the printer is power on
2. Press and hold # and 6 key and connect the cord back ( Connect the cord while you are holding the # and 6 )
3. Release the buttons after 4-5 seconds once you have connected the cord
4. If the printer is off, Power on the printer by pressing the power on/off button.
5. Wait until the printer goes through initialization process

If the above steps does not fix the issue, assume it could be hardware failure issue.

If your printer is on Wireless network and you followed the Reset, Please run the Wireless Setup Wizard from printer to connect the printer to Network again.

Is there a way for me to leave a date/time stamp when sending a fax on my intellifax 1940CN?

if you enable send report you can get an a4 page with time and date confirming that the fax has been sent, but when set up it will print for every fax. the other option is to have it print on error only and you can manually print report of sent recieved items( all date and time stamped) with the number sent to as a list.

Wrong date on the radio.

RESETTING THE CLOCK AFTER A TOTAL MEMORY LOSS

If you do not change the built in lithium battery within a reasonable period of time after you see the ‘flashing’ LOW BATT. warning indicator, the lithium battery may become exhausted and will no longer be able to supply back up power to the SmartSet internal computer.

If the unit is disconnected from the AC outlet after the battery is exhausted, or if a power interruption occurs, the SmartSet memory will be lost and the clock will need to be reset when the power is restored. Be sure to install a fresh lithium battery before you reset the clock, otherwise the clock will need to be reset each time the power is interrupted.

If the lithium battery is exhausted and you experience an interruption in the AC power supply, the clock will reset itself to its initial default setting when the power is restored.

The initial default setting is “12:00 AM, Saturday, January 1
(1 1), 2005”.

If you notice that the time on your SmartSet clock radio is completely incorrect, and the day indicator is also wrong, press the MONTH/DATE button to see the date. If the date display is showing “1 1” (January 1 ), you probably experienced
a total memory loss. To reset the clock after a total memory loss, proceed as follows:

1.) Install a new CR2430 lithium battery in the battery compartment.

2.) Connect the radio to your AC outlet and let the clock set itself.

3.) Depress the MONTH/DATE and TIME buttons together. The display will change from ‘time’ to ‘year’. While holding the MONTH/DATE and TIME buttons, press the UP button to
set the display to the correct year, then release the buttons.

4.) Depress the MONTH/DATE button. The display will change from ‘time’ to 'month/date’ (mm/dd). While holding the MONTH/DATE button, press the UP button to set the display
to the correct month and date. The Day indicator will change automatically as you adjust the month/date settings. When the correct month and date appear on the display, release the buttons.

5.) Depress the TIME button and the UP button to set the display to the correct time. Be sure to confirm that you have set the time correctly to ‘AM’ or ‘PM’ by observing the AM indicator.

6.) After you set the time, reconfirm that the Day, and Month/Date displays are still correct. Make final adjustments if necessary.

The SmartSet clock memory is now reset and the new lithium battery will maintain it for the next 5 to 8 years, depending on the number and duration of the power outages you experience.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
After resetting the clock, don’t forget to reset your wake up times, and alarm mode settings, and sleep timer settings as well.

Printer error Info code=021

Hi, machine error/info codes usually require service. Attempting the following involves some risk, you may loose complete access to your unit or not do anything at all. It is strongly recommended that you call a qualified service personnel/professional. However, if you feel like giving it a try while praying..... reset the system: Power on, wait for a minute or two, Function button, 7 (keypad), Monitor button (4X), soon as you hear the beep punch * (keypad). You will now be in the service menu. If no service menu, stop, do not power off, unplug. If in service menu, 7 (keypad), Set, go to Reset Option (arrow down one step), Set. Unit will prompt you to reset, press 1 for yes, system will confirm that it has completed resetting. Go back to main menu (Stop button), power down, wait again for a minute or two, power up. Please remember that resetting may, can and will erase all your personal settings and preferences including day/date/time, etc. The above steps may make your unit completely useless. If still you have the 021 code, you can brute force it to reset. Power on without a toner cartridge. In self-test, it will check itself and reset many functions to determine faults (including toner cartridge and your code 021). Wait again for a minute or two, Power off, reinseert the toner cartridge, wait again for a minute or two, and power up. If all else fails (including the prayer) pls go back to the first paragraph. The above steps are not mine but were described by a good samaritan. Hope this works out for you and lots of luck.
