I hate to say it, but that sounds like the "red ring of death". If you call Xbox support, they can confirm it, and tell you how to service your machine.
When someone say that his/her Xbox is having 3 red lights
problem, It means it needs to be repaired. If you are using Cooler than
it is not a cure but a prevention. You could have used cooler before
acutally having the problem just to prevent your Xbox. But now you will
have to either get it repaired from Microsoft (in case your Xbox's
warranty is not expired, but one thing to note is that you will have to
wait for at least 3-4 weeks to get back your Xbox) or you can Fix your
Xbox's 3 Flashing red lights problem yourself with the help of DIY Video guide available on Internet. You can fix yourself without any technical knowledge.

you need to change your power box there is a bad connection with the wires. its over heating you might whant to buy another at game stop or take it in to get fixed. the more you messed with it it might mess up your whole system.
There's a little button on the front of your 360 and the same button is on the front of the controller. You hit the button on the 360 and the green lights around the power button start to circle. Then you hit it on your controller and the green lights around thexbox guide button start to circle. In a second or two they'll find each other and both will flash at the same time, and it's synced up. I think there's a little symbol of air waves next to the button. Try this it should fix your problem
hold both the connection buttons on the consel and the controler untill it conectes. if it dosnt connect then your controller mit be damaged and cant remember the software for it. try to get a different controller to conect to it to see if it conects.
this is the ps3 equivilent of the xbox360s red ring of death error, sorry to tell you but that means a serious system error has killed your ps3 its unfixable and you will have to send it off for a replacement
Have you tried resyncing your xbox and controllers? On the controller, press the little circle button on the top of the controller, between the bumpers. On the 360, there's a small circle button, about half inch wide, next to the memory card ports. Press that as well.
You need to connect the controller to the console. Hit connect on the controller so the lights flash in a circle. Then hit the white button on the console and they should find each other. If not check batteries..
