SOURCE: How do I move the presser foot on a Husqvarna

Not sure what exactly you need to know. Are you trying to lift the presser foot or change the presser foot to another one? If it is lifting, there will be a lever of some kind behind the machine. On one of my Husqvarna machines it was a big flat "paddle" shaped lever, not sure what shape it is on the Emerald machines. Lift the lever from the bottom upwards and outwards. Most Husqvarna machines have clip on-and-off feet. You just gently pull forwards on the foot (while the presser foot is raised) to remove it, then push the new one on making sure the small bar part of the presser foot goes into the clip on the presser foot ankle.

SOURCE: I have an Emerald 116

Check to be sure the feed dog position lever/button hasn't accidently been changed to the down position. Sometimes this happens because we hit or touch it without realizing it. Then we try to sew and the fabric goes nowhere! I hope this helps. If it does, please let Fixya know by rating my solutions! Good luck!

Hi Valerie,

Have you checked the Husqvarna website for USA? Following is a link to a page where you may be able to identify your needle plate & possibly order the part through the Husqvarna website.

I have 116 emerald sewing machine, seldom used, I do not have oiling Instructions in manual.

The Husqvarna Viking Emerald 116 is an electronic sewing machine. These machines do not get oiled by the user. See page 42 of the manual for the routine maintenance; here's a link to that page: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/616955/Viking-Emerald-122.html?page=42#manual . You should only clean the bobbin hook assembly and the feed teeth.

If you have a problem, you should take the machine to a trusted sewing machine repair person. If you add oil, you could damage the electronic components of the machine.

I hope this helps.

(I have access to both a completely mechanical sewing machine and an electronic 'computerized' machine. I only do the maintenance indicated in the manual for each machine.)

What is the weight of Viking Emerald 116 sewing machine?

This is a tabletop machine. So what about picking it up and putting it on the bathroom scale?

The needle threader is stuck down on my Emerald 116

Typically the threading device moves downward and then rotates sideways. Which function is stuck? Is the shaft bent? In any case, the threader apparatus is removable. If you need help disassembling, get a service manual for that model (probably about $20 on the internet).
