General Electric JVM3670BF GE Profile 36" Spacemaker 1.8 Cu. Ft. Over the Range Microwa Logo
Anonymous Posted on Oct 18, 2012

We Have a GE Model JVM 3670BF001 Spacemaker that started making a buzzing noise periodically when turned on. After a few times of buzzing it quit heating.

The microwave began making a buzzing sound when on heat mode part of the time. If we turned it off and restarted it usually quit the buzzing. However, after about a week of that there was a buzzing and then a pop, and since the pop it not longer heats.

The microwave control panel, key pad, vent fan, lights, turntable and clock all work.   When turned on it just does not produce any heating since the buzzing sound and ultimately culminating with the pop. Is there a heating element or tube that could have gone out?

You probably had a bad connection now with pop probably separated. You may also have a bad thermal over heat device. one brand is Thermodisk. But you need to know what you are doing. Might be time to replace.

Constant buzzing noise, must be transformer but stove works perfect. is this normal

Look to see if coiled gas line is vibrating against back of stove. (Or try pulling stove forward a bit).

Otherwise, you are probably correct about a transformer. It can be ''defective'' and still work.

Oven fan will not shut off

Do a search for thermal fuse and your model. The heat can trip a fuse which will lock the fan on. Good news is it is resettable. Find the fuse and reset it.

The microwave made a loud pop sound when starting to heat up something. Microwave continues to "appear" in working order, but does not heat anything at all. Over the range type. Model: GE Spacemaker...

Home owners should not try to repair there own microwave, you should call a professional to diagnose and repair

When turning on the burner, the gas does not always flow

There is usually a switch under the knob thaat controls the electrical sparker. OFTEN these get messed up when the area around the knob is cleaned and water gets behind the knob.

Fan has difficulty turning, buzzes

Hi
Tha model is a Maytag.
There are a few things to check here, and it's best always to use the proces of elimination.
These are the things you need to check:
1.MOTOR, DOWNDRAFT
2.BLOWER ASSEMBLY
3.SCROLL, BLOWER ASSY.
4.CORD, POWER (MOTOR)

as you mention before sometime run and sometimes do not run.
youll have to start by checking those items and make sure they are not damage or obstructed. I have some wiring diagrams for that model, if you would like for me to email them to you, please let me know.
I hope that will help you
