Hello!! I have an Acer Aspire One and during the start up process the screen works I can see the Windows Logo and Bios, but after that the screen black. I can heard from the Audio that the Windows (OS) works. I NEED HELP, PLEASE!!!!!!
OK, Not sure about the Aspire One, But I had the same problem with the Aspire 5610Z.
I simply found the Bios battery and with a small screw driver, created a short circuit of the bios by touching the two leads (just for a couple seconds) from the Bios Battery to the Motherboard. And It Works Fine Now!
Be sure to Disconnect all power from the laptop, and remove the Battery before doing this.
You can do as I did and download a free manual of your laptop which shows you where the bios battery is located.

I have the same problem with my Acer Aspire One ...
Sometimes my Netbook will boot up in less than a minute, and other
times it doesn't want to boot up at all. I have tried to solve this
problem by disabling some of the start up programs, but to no avail.
Acer Aspire One new in September 08 gave me the black screen early November 08. Power light on and humming from inside, but nothing on the screen. Retail store replaced it, New model has just done exactly the same this AM. Workine fine yesterday. No amount of web advice, key tapping has made any difference. Rubbish heap? Bill in New Zealand
My two month old Aspire One screen blacked out after the machine was sitting idling for ten minutes. No amount of fiddling brings the display back and plugging in a remote monitor and trying to toggle to that is also an exercise in futility. Switch on/off/on - it doesn't matter what, it sounds like the drive is spinning but apart from that *darkness*. Bought from Amazon and today going back to Acer's repair centre. Be interesting to hear what they have to say....
Same problem with our Acer Aspire One. When it goes into sleep mode it never wakes up. Screen goes blank after about 10 minutes non-use, and then there is nothing that can be done to get it to refresh or restart except to remove from power, remove the battery, put battery back in, and start from scratch. It is infuriating! I would look for another make if I had it to do again.
try booting into safe mode. It sounds like you have a power management disagrement.
