Soft reset disconneting the negative battery cable few minutes; if the code come back again, its possible that you have some problem with the sensor, wires or harnesses connections.

Keep in mind that sometimes will need OBD scanner tool to reset or delete all stored codes.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

SOURCE: on a 04 camry with 2.4 ltr engine, can I replace

I think the terms "Throttle Positon Sensor", TPS and "Throttle Body" can be misleading at least in regards to the 04 Camry.

My 04 Camry gave a diagnostic reading of P2121 for my problem "Throttle PEDAL position switch D circuit". However, we changed out the complete Throttle Body/TPS (Toyota Part #22030-0H020) that did NOT fix problem.

The 04 Camry TPS Electronic Module "Throttle Positon Sensor" is factory assembled and riveted to the side of the throttle body. The only way to service/inspect it would be to cut off or drill out the rivets. Not sure you could open the darn thing if you got it off, but that seems to be the only way Toyota sells them!!

Hopefully a new Throttle PEDAL Position Sensor (Toyota Part # 78010-33010 PEDAL ASSY, ACC)
will fix it. This is located under the dash near the accelerator pedal.

So, now I would recommend FIRST to replace the "Throttle PEDAL Positon Sensor" (it is much, much cheaper) and then the Throttle Body/TPS assembly!! Unless of course, you get a diagnostic code as you did for "faulty throttle body!!

FRV OR CRV?
FRV IS EUROPE CAR ONLY.

AUTO OR MANUAL TRANS? NOT TOLD
WILD GUESS AUTO?

Trouble Code Conditions:
APP Sensor A/B (TP Sensor D/E) Incorrect Voltage Correlation
Possible Causes:
  • Intermittent failure. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the APP sensor and the PCM.
Trouble Code: P2138 (1.8L L4 VIN - Auto)
APP Sensor A/B (TP Sensor D/E) Incorrect Voltage Correlation Print this code data so you dont know what APP means.
wall that TBW tech jargon, Throttle by wire.
it is a THROTTLE error.!
that has 3 or 4 TPS sensors and a motor drive to TV
the error means 2 of the sensors do not agree, Correlation error is that.
so is bad TB or bad pedal pots
the service manual tells you the tests with a meter to prove which POT lies .
APP is gas pedal module just above right foot.
TPS TV sensors are inside the TB throttle body, and most times
whole thing is changed out. to fix it. TB
The TB is that things the Air cleaner connects to, on top of engine
it is a large chuck of aluminum .

called TB (classic name)
THROTTLE ACTUATOR and
THROTTLE POSITION (TP) SENSOR
top center of engine , close to fire wall , facing engine.

photo below (civic) shows.
A does not agree with B
A = gas pedal pair of pots
B= TB
my wild guess is pedal module bad.
my guess APP pedal B is bad. and most cheap to buy. (?)

I replaced the throttle body in my 2002 Jetta V6 but the EPC code wont reset with a scanner

This can be a hard one need to know if all the tubes and vacuum lines are good including the pcv valve tubes and system if these are in poor repair you may not get the throttle body to stay programmed flashing the ECM won't help unless some one flashed it to the wrong programming before.

What do computer codes P0068 & P0496 mean ?

P0068 MAP/MAF is Throttle Position Correlation. In this error code:--- From the error code P0068 you have its indicating a bad throttle body or throttle actuator controller.. The 2 tps sensors inside read each other and if they differ for a few seconds or milliseconds then you get a this error code with reduced power. In some cases the new connector and wiring to the throttle actuator is required and in some cases getting the throttle body cleaned helps.---------------
And code P0496 - "Evaporative Emission System High Purge Flow".------------In this error the purge valve needs to be replaced. The purge valve is mounted on the inlet manifold under the hood. Its on the top of the intake manifold, passenger side. Two hoses (one on each side) and a wire harness on the front of it. It has a red w/blue stripe and brown w/white stripe wire harness connected to it.Remove and replace this valve.-----------------This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.
