SOURCE: Fn F2 combo does not turn on wireless internet on Gateway 7405GX

There should be, i.e as in via the Network Connections in Windows. Check i Device Manager if ALL is well ad Enabled, i.e the Wireless Device.

Also you might want to enable it via BIOS setup, especially if it is Onboard and not a Plug-in Device for Wireless Connection such as a PCMCIA Wireless NIC, etc etc.

Right Clicking on Icons often reveals many shortcuts to what you can do, eg Properties of the Wireless Network Connections Enable, Disable, Status, Repair and so on.

Take your time and learn what hidden alternatives there are to navigating thru Windows.

Hopefully you'll be able to fix the problem if not already done so.

SOURCE: how to turn on hardware switch to enable wireless

What make, what Model? One of the least standardized items in computing is what/where the wireless switch is.

SOURCE: can't enable Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini-Card

I had the exact same problem and went through the same steps that he did. It was only when I searched for a physical wireless switch (on the left side of my Dell D630) that the problem was solved. I didn't even know it was there and must have inadvertently knocked into the off position.

Wireless capability won't turn on

Make sure you Press and Hold the FN function key then hit the F2 key.

Maybe you don't have your wireless turned on. Look on both sides and in front for the Wireless Switch and turn it on.

Also once the wireless switch is turned on there are keystrokes that can toggle the wireless on or off. Normally you would Press and Hold the FN function key located at the lower left of the keyboard, then hit the correct F1 thru F12 key that toggles the wireless. The correct F1 thru F12 key to hit will have the wireless signal icon )))) on it. Or it might have the icon of a tower with the wireless signal icon )))). Normally the screen will display Wireless On or Wireless Off when you toggle the wireless.

Some laptops might have a wireless button instead of a wireless switch located above the keyboard or on the front or sides.

Wifi problems with Dell Inspiron E1705

LOL, sounds like you didn't hit the correct key or keystrokes.

First of all look in front and on the sides for the Wireless Switch and make sure it is turned on. Then once it is on you can toggle the wireless on or off by Keystrokes. Press and Hold the FN key located at the lower left portion of the keyboard, then hit the corresponding F1 thru F12 key that toggles the wireless. The correct F1 thru F12 key to hit will have the icon of the wireless signal )))) or it will have the icon of a tower with the wireless signal )))). Normally when the correct keystrokes is hit the screen will display Wireless On or Wireless Off.

Turn wifi on dell

There should be a switch on the side or at the front of the laptop. If the switch is on, then you can also toggle the Wifi on and off by a set of key strokes. Normally you can hit either the ALT, CTRL or FN key + the F1 thru F12 key that toggles the wireless. Most times its the FN key, but I have seen the Alt key used. Press and Hold the FN key then hit the correct F1 thru F12 key that toggles the wireless. The correct F1 thru F12 key will have the wireless icon )))) on it. Normally if you hit the correct keys to toggle the wireless the screen will display Wireless On or Wireless Off.
