I have the motor out and the 3 screws that holds the pump but the pump does not want to come off shaft - Is there something else that holds the pump onto the motor shaft?

there are 3 screws that hold the pump to the moter but sometimes it is rusted so you may need to pri it off

Steps for Replacing the Belt
Tools needed:
Nut driver or socket set.
Torex screw driver.
1. Unplug the power cord from the
electric socket and
remove the
front panel.
2. Disconnect the power coupling
from the motor.
3. Disconnect the 2 hoses from the
pump. Be aware that the pump
still contains
between 1 and
2 cups of water,
and it WILL
all come out.
4. Remove the belt from the idler
arm, pushing the
belt UNDER the
idler arm. Yes, your hands will
now be quite
greasy.
5. Remove the belt from the main
transmission by
pushing the belt
under the
transmission pulley.
6. Remove the 4 bolts that hold the
motor assembly to
the washing
machine body. Remove the motor
assembly with belt
from the
washing
machine.
7. Turn the motor upside-down. With
the torex
screwdriver, remove the
3 bolts that hold
the pump to the
motor. Remove the pump from the
motor (in my case,
the motor shaft
fit into a slot in
the pump; while
it was snug, it was
not melted or
rusted, and did
just come out).
8. Clean pump and motor as desired.
9. Install new belt and reverse the
steps to
re-install.

I ended up breaking the pump. I found that there is no real trick, it just gets stuck on sometimes. I worked on removing it very carefully for a couple hours but in the end the plastic cracked and needed replaced. The pump cost me $48 to replace and then the rest was easy

SOURCE: how old is my amana whirlpool washer model number
The date of manufacture is actually determined by the SERIAL NUMBER on your appliance. If this is a Whirlpool, the following link explains how to determine how old the appliance is:
http://www.fixya.com/support/r3576437-determining_the_age_of_your_whirlpool_ap
The 1st 2 NUMBERS in the serial number determine the week it was manufactured. Just count the weeks of the year on a calendar and this will tell you the MONTH.
The 2nd digit in the serial number determines the YEAR it was manufactured.
If you have any questions about how to determine this on your appliance, post back with your serial number and I can explain it for you. I hope this helps you.
