LETS START HERE , MOST OF THE GFCI BREAKERS WILL SOMETIMES RUN THROUGH THE BATH ROOM OUTLETS AND THEN OUTSIDE IF YOU HAVE A GFCI IN THE BATH OR LAUNDRY OR BASEMENT OR GARAGE MAKE SURE NONE OF THE RESET BUTTONS ARE IN THE TRIP POSITION THE NEC CODE CALLS FOR ALL OF THE LISTED PLACES AS WELL AS CRAWL SPACES AND NEXT TO AC/HEATPUMP TO BE ALL GFCI AND TO SAVE MONEY AND WIRE MOST OF THESE ARE DAISEY CHAINED TOGETHER TO SAVE MONEY SO THEY PUT ONE CLOSE TO THE BREAKER PANEL AND FEED THE REST OFF IT IT WILL BE A GOOD CK I HAVE HAD MANY CALLS FOR THIS THROUGH THE YEARS

Cure for not able turn on the Go 510, 16 Jun 2007
By
Sirius (Essex) - See all my reviewsI like the tomtom so far the only niggle was it would not turn on once.
No troubleshooting on instructions, found cure on internet, reset button
underside. With the tomtom turned over and the card slot on top right hand
side there is a small rubber foot at the half moon shaped enterance, up at about the 10 o'clock position from the foot, but before the green circuit
board there is a small half round cut out with a hole under you need to press in this hole for a few seconds with a paper clip to reset. I wonder how many people have sent their tomtoms back that would not turn on.
Tried it & worked a treat!!! Newcastle here we come again ...

SOLUTION: After a year and half of keeping this broken dock around and researching online to no avail, I have finally "fixed" my Memorex iListen iPod dock.
*Quick answer is that I used an old ac adaptor from a modem I no longer used but for more details, read below.
The first issue was figuring out what to search for. My iListen doesn't clearly note it's name on the unit. All I could find on it was "Memorex" so for the purpose of those Googling for a solution, I used generic search terms like "Memorex white ipod dock" plus "won't power on," "fix," "repair," and "broken." I hope including those keywords in this solution's text helps people arrive at this page as a result.
To clarify the symptoms my unit presented: 1) The power supply's green light was lit but did appear to blink, or rather it was constantly lit but would fade slightly from bright to medium before repeating in approximately two second intervals. 2) The unit would not seem to turn on; however, pressing the power button with an ipod plugged in would result in the unit momentarily turning on. It varied in length but usually only "flashed" on.
Given these circumstances, my guess was that a "blown fuse" was the cause. Since I saw no way to open up the power block or the main dock unit (not quite sure what I was gonna do once in there except look for a fuse), I decided to rummage thru some old power adapters I had lying around in an old shoe box. I found one from an old modem that matched the symbols on the original "broken" adapter. (as i found later, the symbol represents a positive polarity, more info here:http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:AC_adaptor_polarity.png)
Once I plugged in the modem adaptor to the dock, it powered right up.
I know this was a long, LONG way around sharing a singular solution, but seeing how long it took to finally discover it (albeit an incredibly simple one), I wanted to make sure others found it and knew what circumstances specifically applied to my case.

1) have you tried changing that box in that room to another and the box from the other to this room. That may give you an idea of either power or signal strength issue.
2) after it resets does a "dl" show up on the box front. if so it is trying to download a firmware/software update and everythime you power cycle it starts over.
3) turn the box off then hit select and go to option 8. there should be 4 modules enabled.
4) you may need a new box
