Cure for not able turn on the Go 510, 16 Jun 2007
By
Sirius (Essex) - See all my reviewsI like the tomtom so far the only niggle was it would not turn on once.
No troubleshooting on instructions, found cure on internet, reset button
underside. With the tomtom turned over and the card slot on top right hand
side there is a small rubber foot at the half moon shaped enterance, up at about the 10 o'clock position from the foot, but before the green circuit
board there is a small half round cut out with a hole under you need to press in this hole for a few seconds with a paper clip to reset. I wonder how many people have sent their tomtoms back that would not turn on.
Tried it & worked a treat!!! Newcastle here we come again ...
Have you tried to do a reset? Go to the TomTom website to find out where it is on your device and use a straightened paperclip to reset.

Same problem. Tomtom worked fine for around 18 months, then in the last few weeks started taking quite a while to find a GPS signal. On a work trip to Newcastle (150 miles away) it completely conked and refused to switch on although the green light displays when plugged in. Luckily I had an A-Z in my boot & managed to navigate my way back. Any solutions to bring my dead Tomtom back to life??
Thank you, Fantastic.
I was 2 hrs from leaving for our hol and went to put the journey and had the problem described. Dead even when on charger bases. AAAAAGGGGGHHHH!!. Searched and did as directed and it burst into life.
Thank you.
V.V.V. helpful indeed
The travel trailer is plugged into the electrical for the house. Refrigerator is on AC. All lights and microwave work. The GFI trips even when nothing is plugged into them. Plugged in vaccuum, turned it on and it ran for a couple of minutes, then the GFI tripped. Now nothing even has to be plugged into the recepticles and you push the red button on the GFI and it immediately trips. What could it be?
