There are a few possible reasons why you may be experiencing black and white video when playing DVDs on your Syvania SSD803 DVD/VCR combo. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
Check the video settings on your TV. Make sure that the TV is set to display color and that the correct video input is selected.
Check the cables. Make sure that the cables connecting the DVD/VCR combo to the TV are securely plugged in and that they are in good condition. If the cables are damaged or loose, they may cause the video to be distorted or not display at all.
Check the DVD/VCR combo. Make sure that the DVD/VCR combo is set to output color video and that all of the connections are secure. If the DVD/VCR combo is not set to output color video or if the connections are loose, it may cause the video to be displayed in black and white.
Check the DVD. Make sure that the DVD itself is in good condition and that it is compatible with the DVD/VCR combo. If the DVD is damaged or is not compatible with the DVD/VCR combo, it may cause the video to be displayed in black and white.
If none of these troubleshooting steps resolve the issue, it is possible that there is a problem with the DVD/VCR combo itself. In this case, you may need to have it repaired or replaced
first check color level setting on the tv when on av source input. double check input you are using, yellow video input (not green)
then try another device in that same input, then try the DVD player on another tv. The problem will be either DVD player or incompatibility or bad main board in TV, but usually a DVD or compatibility problem(cheap DVD player)
Some inputs on tvs won't process the color signal. Try one of the other inputs. Mine does the same. If u have already used the working ones on something else, U will need a switch to select one or the other available at Radio Shack if u can find one.
Does your TV have two separate video inputs, or just two sets of video input jacks and only ONE video input
Try disconnecting your VCR from the TV (or turning it off) and see if the color comes back on your DVD.
Also make sure that your video connections are properly connected(check your manual for how to connect the AV cable)
Also, try playing the DVD in your computer and see if it is black and white on your computer monitor too. If so, then it is supposed to be in black and white.
sounds like the problem is the TV . your tv have to different inputs , COMPONENT is for the separate color , BLUE , RED , GREEN this is for better video quality , if your DVD doesnt have this OUTPUT feature , then maybe the YELLOW (VIDEO) , RED & WHITE ( AUDIO ) thats coming out from your DVD player is connected to the COMPONENT input of your TV , GETTING the B&W effect. it should be connected to the VIDEO input of your TV ( yellow , red , white ) hope this is helpful AJ
Yeah no color coz its black and white. Color coding commonly yellow wire for video, red and white wire for audio. It should also be from DVD to TV, video out and audio out going to video in and audio in. And switch the TV to play video and the audio inputted. Maybe TV/Video Switch or button.
good day. to connect your any DVD player to any TV screen always remember this color code
from DVD back part:
yellow = video out
red/blue/green( in a row) = component video out ( this can only be used for screen with component video inputs)
Black = digital audio ( rarely use unless) Red and white (in a row) = Audio output (left and right audio)
where to connect from TV screen.
Locate where A/V INPUTS (audio/video socket) from your TV screen, you can see it either at the BACK/SIDE or somtimes in FRONT of TV screen , having marked as "AV1"AV2"AV3' .
Once you found TV input, you must first have RCA cable (color code cable to connect player to screen) then connect the RCA cable at the back of your DVD player, simply follow color code
RCA yellow marked cable = DVD yellow socket RCA RED and WHITE marked cable = DVD RED and white socket (second row for your player)
then connect the other end of the RCA cable to TV screen, first select which input where you gonna place the DVD player ( either AV1, Av2 or Av3 if do have multiple inputs)
once decided which INPUT to connect the player. ex. if you select AV1 as input there would be 3socket on its row (yellow/red/white)
now connect the other end of RCA cable to the screen by following the same color code:
RCA yellow cable = TV screen A/V1 input yellow socket RCA RED and White = TV screen A/V1 input red and white socket.
