Thanks for the infor.. when the TV does come on, the tv is working just fine, no other problems that I notice and I don't remember anything else that could have caused this to happen, we have our Directtv and other components attached like the HD DVD, but other than that I notice it took of couple of push on the power on from the remote and it would come on, then it was a few hours, and now days, but somehow it will eventuall come, I know when it coming on it has that sizzlin/cracklin sound, and when it does come on I keep on for a long time, but when I turn it off, it will come back on a few minutes after it goes, but if it stays off for quite sometime, like over nite, that's when the problems starts.
I have the same problem, only I do not use the remote to turn the tv on or off. I actually try not to turn the tv off at all, but now I get sound for about two seconds then it turns off and on about three times and then is deadI have the same problem, only I do not use the remote to turn the tv on or off. The eprom (has menu controls ) and sensor ( takes frequency's from the remote) and as long as the batterys are good in the remote then the eprom and sensor inside the set will need to be tested and maybe replaced or also there is a crystal that is on the eprom chip that can cause these symptoms , but it will need testing and replacement of one of these components
also a fixya is the only rating that will help our rating as all others hurt our rating and the rating is all we get for answering questions or determining a problem for free , I will be more than happy to give you all the info I can without being able to test the tv myself , but I can only tell you so much without being able to test it. but right now that would be the place to look for a fault since the remote signal was not being processed thru the sensor or eprom chip
now why would you do that? you don't want people to help because stuff like that is what makes us not want to help here anymorenow why would you do that? you don't want people to help because stuff like that is what makes us not want to help here anymore
