This is a hardware issue.
The LG drives motor attaches to the top rotor by help of a magnet, which fixes the disc so it can spin symmetrically. For this to happen, the drive unit has to have a fixed piece of metal. Now, this particular metal ring gets loose quite easily and then permanently sticks on the top of the unit, where the magnet is situated. As it is now loosely attached to the top of the drive unit, the optical disc will spin errandly, that is where the clunking, rattling noise comes from.
To fix it, you must open the LG player and the drive unit, which is really simple to do, and glue the metal ring back in its original position.
Thats how I did it and the drive now purrs along quietly.
PS
LG really produces those units cheaply, that is the reason the metal ring detaches so easily.
Open the dvd player and look at the underside of the dvd top piece which is easily removable. The clutch that holds the dvd in place has gray pins of rubber or silicon. Part # MCK 66030401 is listed as "lid" and costs $20. LG says the warranty is void if you do open the unit, so if it is out of warranty it is a cheap fix. LG stinks as far as keeping customers happy with their products.
Check and replace the optical pickup unit.

unplug the blu ray for 10 minutes try again, your blu ray is definitely still covered by warranty? instead of trying to update the firmware it might be best to contact your dealer. upgrading the firmware might get rid of the warranty in some cases.
SOURCE: LG super blu player won't play blu ray disc
Have you updated the firmware on it? I had a similar problem with a Sony blu-ray player and I had to download an update and burn it on to a CD then allow the CD to update the blu-ray player. What's the model number of your player, I may be able to get a link to the update for you.

Software updates have to be done on bluray players whenever the technology in bluray discs themselve is changed. If you call the number for 20th century fox on the back of the bluray a representative there will explain to you what has changed technologically in this bluray that has caused there to be software updates for all of the bluray players. I believe LG can send you a disc so that you can update your player. Give them a call. The bluray players are all manufactured and shipped to the stores. In the meantime if an update is needed and its sitting on the shelf at the store until you buy it, even if you've just bought it an hour ago it will still need to be updated. The stores do not unbox the blu ray players and update them for you. However the Geek squad will update bluray players for customers for a fee.

Are you talking about the wireless security password that allows you to establish a wireless connection? Or, are you talking about the CIFS login and password that allows you to see shared folders on your computer.
If you can't establish a wireless connection, try changing the type of security you currently have set up on your router. For example, if you are using WPA, try switching to WEP and see if you can then connect the BD570 to the router. As a last option, you could try turning off all security (for a brief time, of course) and see if the BD570 will connect to your router.
If you are having the dreaded CIFS login and password problem (and you are using a Win7 computer), uninstall Windows Live Login-Assistant and Windows Live Essential 2011. Both programs interfere with the ability to use CIFS file sharing on the BD570.

My wheel looks to me that there was rubber or silicone nubs to contact the dvd, and mine are gone. The lid part that i rrecommende in an earlier post does not contain the "clamp" and the replacement part #MBU51178201 has no metal parts, plastic disc only. What kind of glue did you use?
I think what looks like silicone nubs is the residue left from the glue. I used super glue to put the metal ring back, and it seems to work now.
The solution by b.arridh is spot-on. But it took me a while to figure out what I was looking for. Here's some further description. 1) Remove the metal casing of the BR Player - 3 screws. 2) Loosen the button panel from the front - ~6 snaps hooks 3) Remove the plastic cover from the top of the disc drive - 2 tiny screws and 4 snap hooks (you may have to loosen the entire drive to loosen the hooks that fasten the cover). 4) On the bottom side of the cover you'll see a loosely held spindle guide that spins (this contains the magnet). It should be all black. I found the "metal ring" (3/8" diameter, light grey metal) stuck to it - held fast by the magnet. I didn't realize it wasn't supposed to be attached, so it didn't occur to my to pry it off at first. 5) Pry the ring from the magnet, taking note of which side will contact the spinning cone that comes up from the disk drive. 6) Check how it fits into the round groove on the top of the cone, and then glue it in place. I used Shoe Goo as i thought it would be less brittle than super glue. But i've heard that super glue works. I hope it works!
This was EXACTLY my issue. Thank you to B.Arridh, A Garrett and especially to Brian Knezek for the Step by Step. I had already opened this once I didnt even see the issue. Reading this answer just saved my played from the city dump.
Thank you. Thank you. This tutorial is perfect, and I WAS able to solve the problem. I always get intimidated when opening up hardware, but this was a piece of cake thanks to Brian K. Plus, now I get bragging rights! My son said I get a "Mother of the Year" award.
Fantastic! The metal ring (looks like a washer) had come unattached and was stuck to the magnet on the top of the drive case lid. Super glued it in place and all is well! A big HUGE thank you. As others have stated, I would have never realized that metal ring was not supposed to be on the top of the lid.
Thanks!
This worked for me! Disc was rattling all over and ejcting, and getting errors and LG does not know blame it on the discs and and said to uae cleaners which did nothing. Turns out the piece was stuck to the top! So I glued it back down with tacky glue and some Krazy Glue but ran out so Tacky worked so far.
This worked for me for my LG blue Ray player. Thank you
