1.leaking polarised glass parts in the blue channel.

Ur tv is missing a blue color.U tv might have a bad incomming broadcasting signal cable.Try watch a DVD movie,to make sure,if u have all three colors guns like R,G,B on the tv.If DVD movie have the same problems,than ur tv have a dying tv Tuner signal board,that take in the incomming broadcasting signal cable.
if you are using component cables, check the cables for correct color configuration to your TV and from DVD Player.Example red to red green to green and blue to blue, if they check out,the possible problem might be a defective cable...
Remove & re-seat the component video cables at both the TV and the DVD player.
If the problem continues, disconnect BOTH ends of the BLUE cable and the RED cable. Connect the BLUE cable to the RED jack at both the DVD and TV, and connect the RED cable to the BLUE jack ob both the TV and DVD. If the RED color comes back and the BLUE is missing, then replace the RED cable (the red cable is broken and will not pass the signal that it is connected to).
If all works, reconnect the colored cables to the corresponding colored jacks at both the TV and DVD player.
If the RED color still won't display, isolate the trouble to either the DVD player or TV by connecting the DVD to another TV w/ component jacks. If the RED is still missing, it is a problem inside the DVD player - if the RED displays, it is a problem with the TV.
Sony tech support (no charge) said it was definitely not the lamp.
Their suggestion- By unplugging the TV for a minute then turning back on, the blue color was substantially but not toally reduced.
Perhaps there is an electrical charge building up distoring the color by having the TV in the ready mode for too long and by unplugging, the charge dissipates?
No other phone solution recommended other than calling for repairs.
reset all color settings from the unit's menu. disconnect any source and turn off the unit turn on the unit and wait for the manufacturers logo to show up (and it must be BLUE).
not blue ? reseat the lamp. replace lamp if it doesn't work.
The reason the picture is blue on the DVD is because you have poor video cables running the feed, probably RCA yellow cable im guessing. Get some nice component cables for the DVD feed and it will fix you right up.
