I have "installed "all the DirectX downloads I could find, but dxdiag indicates "DirectX 10.0 (4.10.0000.5515)". My "benchmark for updates is C&C TFD, and I get a message to update DirectX and the game will not run. I have been downloading the DirectXupdates to Win 32 DirectX and trying installs from there with no success. Please help!
Directx depends on the operating system version. You may have to update your operating system to install the version 10. Most games work with openGL better than directx.

SP3 is a huge file approx 320Mb, before to go to Microsoft WEB site to download it, make sure you have sufficient space for the download and sufficient space to install it. If you limited space, remove unnecessary files and do a disk cleanup. After you have downloaded SP3 copy it to a CD, remove the downloaded SP3 and install SP3 from the CD.

First rule-of-thumb, don't trust windows updates for drivers. With that being said, you should find out what the chipset of that Atheros card really is. Download a program called Unknown Devices, by Halfdone. Install the program and run it. It will tell you the actual chipset. Then google search that chipset with the words "xp driver" after it. You should also look at the list and see what the bluetooth type is in you laptop. Usually it will be either a Toshiba bluetooth stack, Widcomm, or Microsoft. Then google that with "xp" after it to find the driver for the bluetooth. Install the software and driver and you should be all set.

hey download the bus driver first . u can get it from microsofts website i too did the same but i have forgotten the link. sorry find the driver and first install driver for the BUS. then install the audio driver

I checked the status of directx using dxdiag, because C&C FTD will no longer play some of the games in the port folio as " Diectx is not up to date". So I downloaded DirectX 10. 0 and installed same to find it didn't update.
Am I missing a step in this procedure
