Boss audio steering wheel integration info needed, specifically with axxess aswc. I know how to wire the aswc to the car. however because my boss unit does not have a 3.5 millimeter input dedicated for steering wheel controls axxess provides one with its parts. the boss audio unit has 3 wires dedicated for steering wheel controls, black (label ground), brown (label key 1), and brown/white (label key 2). The axxess 3.5mm female input has 2 wires, brown, and white (not labeled). I can take a guess but I would like to know if anyone can tell me what wires need to be connected to each other.

I Got the controls to work without an interface, it's a little complicated but if you hook up everything but the swc wire, turn on and go to the swc programming, hold the desired steering wheel button, then as you hold it touch the signal wire to key 1 and pull it back off, do this for each key then set what they are. I did this in my 03 escalade

like said above.. need to use the pigtail adapter for the 3.5mm auxiliary harness. Wire the brown wire from the pigtail to key 1 or key A. Wire the brown and white to key 2 or key B. Connect the key ground from the stereo to chassis ground. Use radio type 11.

The steering remote control input is for a wired remote control, or a third-party interface that allows you to adapt vehicle steering wheel controls to operate your deck. Your problem is the parking sensor wire. This is supposed to be connected to your vehicle's parking brake switch. It detects when the brake is set, and will prevent a picture from showing when it's not set. The intent is to prevent you from watching movies while the vehicle is in motion. If you can get a good look at the parking brake mechanism, you should be able to see the brake switch. Usually there's a single wire coming from the switch, which is built onto the parking brake mechanism. Connect your parking sensor wire to the wire coming from this switch.

90% of new and aftermarket harness' are the same, Red any Yellow are Constant 12v and ACC. 12v. Black is ground, Green is rear left speakers, Purple is the right rear. White is front left and Grey front right. Blue solid is Power Antenna, Blue with a white is an AMP Relay. (Which is another 12v ACC) You should have some sort of AV in/out lines for the rear screens, if that was an issue.

SOURCE: wire diagram i think

pink wire if its to go to ground then any metal is ground or negative not live in other words they say the handbrake so you cant use it whilst driving so any metal should do for this ok.

Are you wiring it to amp or not?
Also the mute only wires into say phone cradle or something that would mute the stereo say if you had phone in craddle this would mute the sound so you could here the call. so not needed unless you have phone craddle.

If the two lives are wired in and the ground black when you earth the pink then it should switch on let me know if this happens.

Auto ant is for the arial on car if this goes up and down on motor if not then its not needed

Ill check on dimmer/illumination ok but bare with me for couple of hours just popping out but will get back to you then ok

HI,
If you make a close verification on the back side of kenwood DNX9980HD 20 PIN HARNESS then you can see a Light Blue wire with Yellow stip ( BLUE/YELLOW) on it with a identification mark as "Remote cont". You have connect this wire to the Brown wire with white strip (BROWN/WHITE) from the 20 PIN HARNESS of AXXESS ASWC . There wil be a brown wire also from this 20 PIN HARNESS of AXXESS ASWC, leave it free insulated. It will not use with kenwood radios. You have to check for LIGHT BLUE with WHITE strip. There is also two other blue wires of which one with white strip. You hve to choose the light blue wire.

2005 Toyota Camry JBL Radio Replacement: Info button issue

Crutchfield sells an aftermarket kit that allows the steering wheel controls to work, but it's $74, and you head unit must be remote control capable. They also sell a wiring harness that works with Kenwood/Toyota as long as you have the original wiring harness that came with the Kenwoood. You'll need to do some snipping and krimping however.
