There is a tubular piece of plastic inside the analog stick that probably snapped. open up your controller and you'll find that the peice of plastic is hollow. to fix this, cut up some paper clips to the right size and cram them in the hollow space for more stability. superglue the plastic peices together. hope this works for ya.

thumbs up if helpful :)

Ps3 controller manual

You plug in the usb cable to charge the controller and connect it to the ps3 for the first time. You use the left analog stick to move around the dashboard when the ps3 is turned on and the 'X' button to change settings, go to the online browser, playstation store, or start a game. You can back out by pressing 'O' or holding the 'PS' button, which allows you to change a controller number (say controller #1 to #2 with two controllers), turn off the system or turn off the controller. Press (not hold) the controller to look around the dashboard while in a game and select say "Quit Game', or go into settings and change something around to your liking. Every game also comes with the controls and for what the buttons are. (Stick on left is the, "Left Analog Stick," right is "Right Analog Stick," from right to left starting at the green triangle shaped button is the, "Triangle," "Circle," "X," and "Square," buttons. The four buttons on the left going in all directions is the D-pad, and the triggers on the back going from the top left to bottom left and top right to bottom right are, "L1," "L2," "R1," "R2").

Xbox analog sticks are the wrongs way around.

In the options menu there may be a controller configuration called Southpaw. This reverses the sticks. It might be the problem.

The left analogue stick keeps moving the character around even when im not doing anything

Hello alsupjonatha,

There could multiple things wrong, and hopefully nothing serious. Here is a complete list of some problems and solutions that can be wrong with the analog stick.

1. The Left analog stick may be sticky. If you eat greasy foods while playing your Xbox 360 console, try to avoid this from now on. Grease from food particles may slip into the analog stick, and make it sticky, causing the analog to move constantly to one fixed position. Please look at the next problem and solution ahead before attempting to remove your controller with a screwdriver. Here is a complete guide on how to access the inside of an Xbox controller.

----------

2. There may be a simple glitch in configuration. Try turning off your Xbox 360 controller by holding the Xbox Guide button for approx 4 seconds untill a menu comes up. Select "Turn off controller". After doing so, try turning on your controller again. If the problem persists, there may be a greasy analog stick, or an object that broke that holds the analog stick together. Go back to problem/soltution #1.

On cod my logitech controller's control pad moves my player but i cant move with the left joystick (they have been switched somehow)

You have to go through the game settings and ensure that you have set the primary control to be done by the left analog stick. In other words, make sure that you have the left-analog stick as the tool to move your player around while playing the game.
Also, if that doesn't work, there is a possibility that your left-analog stick is somehow jammed and as a result doewsn't perform the right function.
This could be a factory fault or one that arose as a case of mis-management. Whatever your result is, kindly let me know.
Hope this solution was helpful? Please comment for more information and thank you for using www.fixya.com

Xbox 360 controller left analog stick

If you bought it brand new, contact Microsoft ASAP.

Otherwise, no luck. Just an unfortunate side affect of playing a 360.

The left analog stick on my xbox 360 controller is faulty

In this game you must check your settings, you may be set to right handed in which case movement/advance is on the right side and attack is on the left. You should be able to go to settings and change the settings to make the left analog control your movement. Hope this helped and if it does, don't forget to leave feedback....FIXYA!
