Xbox 360 controller left analog stick

So i was playing call of duty world at war recently and noticed when i pushed the left analog stick forward my character was sliding to the right as he kept moving. it wasnt a major slide, but he slightly drifts to the right as i move. it is noticable when i was playing and it makes it more difficult since i have to hold the stick slightly to the left to have my guy move forward. the controller is about a week old and its the limited editon resident evil controller (the red one). please help! thanks!

If you bought it brand new, contact Microsoft ASAP.

Otherwise, no luck. Just an unfortunate side affect of playing a 360.

Left analog stick drifting left
Hello Iwn666,

There could multiple things wrong, and hopefully nothing serious. Here is a complete list of some problems and solutions that can be wrong with the analog stick.

1. The Left analog stick may be sticky. If you eat greasy foods while playing your Xbox 360 console, try to avoid this from now on. Grease from food particles may slip into the analog stick, and make it sticky, causing the analog to move constantly to one fixed position. Please look at the next problem and solution ahead before attempting to remove your controller with a screwdriver. Here is a complete guide on how to access the inside of an Xbox controller.

2. There may be a simple glitch in configuration. Try turning off your Xbox 360 controller by holding the Xbox Guide button for approx 4 seconds untill a menu comes up. Select "Turn off controller". After doing so, try turning on your controller again. If the problem persists, there may be a greasy analog stick, or an object that broke that holds the analog stick together. Go back to problem/soltution #1.

Hacking in any way is illegal. If he is getting hacked, change his Xbox live account password, and do not play call of duty world at war until further notice.

Playing call of duty world at war on xbox live,i entered a game and when i quit the match i noticed i was negative 10 prestige on the game
Dashboard or restart your system. That is a glitch that sometimes happens. It's nothing you did, but rather the Activision servers sorta messing up.

i had the same problem with my xbox 360, but with call of duty world at war.
i had to exchange my xbox 360, for a new one.
and it now works fine, so you should probably stop trying to use the game, or exchange your 360.

i might be able to help... go on to setting go to controller setting and you will have multiple different ways your controller will work look at the one it is at before you change it then try different controller setting if that diddent work write back ;)

It's probbably a battery related problem. Sometimes dropping a controller can break/knock lose an electrical component. If you open up the controller, you might notify the problem.

The left analog stick on my xbox 360 controller is faulty
In this game you must check your settings, you may be set to right handed in which case movement/advance is on the right side and attack is on the left.
